Aloft by Marriott San Francisco Airport

I stayed here for one night before moving to a hotel closer to San Francisco. I picked this hotel because it one of the lowest hotel rates in the area. I arrived at SFO early, and notified the hotel I would be checking in early. The shuttle pick up at the airport was easy, as it is scheduled every 15 minutes. The shuttle services both the Aloft and the Westin, which are right next to each other. Upon arrival, the front desk wanted to upgrade me to a suite (due to my program status), but none where available. Given that I arrived at 10:30am, that didn't bother me at all, and suggested any room would be fine since I was there for only one night. I was given a room on the top floor. The hotel may not be new, but it's well kept and clean. I've stayed at a few Aloft properties, and this one probably had more recreational stuff do do in the lobby than the ones I've seen before - lots of boardgames, pool table, books, and an old coin-op video game arcade machine. The lobby, hallways and rooms have the same colorful, and younger vibe. My room was quite big. Plenty of space, comfortable bed, sizeable washroom counter, working safe, and a fridge that ran quietly. I had no problems with my room. I used the gym once, and it was average size and had typical equipment. They did have two Peloton bikes, for Peloton users. There's isn't much in the immediate area. The Bayfront park is across the street, which is a quiet place to watch planes land at SFO. I also found the New England Lobster Market & Eatery not far way, that is worth trying for fresh lobster. Overall, I was happy with my stay. For an airport stay, it had everything I wanted. If I was in the area longer, I'd be tempted to stay somewhere more convenient and doesn't charge $50/night for parking.

Location to SFO, and our initial receptionist named Abraham - very helpful & sincere.

Our toilet didn’t work. We checked in around 12:30am, and didn’t discover the problem until we were settled in the room. We were getting up literally in 2-hours. When we called to the desk at about 1:00am, they offered to move us to another room. We stayed since we e were getting up in a few hours. Said they’d send an email to their Manager; maybe a discount on our NEXT stay. When we got up, we needed to go #2. Called to desk inquiring if another room was available just to use the toilet. He said there wasn’t one, but the lobby restroom was all that was available. Again, was told an email would be sent to the Manager. Checked out and wound up paying the full rate. Some sort of discount should’ve been given, if nothing else as a gesture to acknowledge the major inconvenience. Nothing was was offered and nothing was given. Why would I ever go back. Dont need a discount for a future stay. Needed one for this one!!!
