Residence Inn Los Angeles Torrance/Redondo Beach

The place was nice. Breakfast was good. Room was nice. Bed was not a comfortable as I would like and the pull out couch was terrible. I wanted to go into the jacuzzi but it was a weird color.

I liked being near the exit and away from all the noises.

The $25 per day parking fee did not come as a surprise but it seemed excessive. Rooms were clean but need an upgrade to earn the rather high room rate. For example, door frames and walls were scuffed, the ceiling was the old fashion cottage-cheese materials, walls were thin and noise from adjoining rooms was constant. Property location is quite good though not close to the beach.

Subpar by Marriott standards. 1) cleaner chemical for rooms was way too strong, got a respiratory infection after my room was cleaned, feel bad for the cleaning staff exposed to those chemicals. 2) a non-hotel guest showed up to breakfast and tried to proposition some of us women for a stay. I quickly ate breakfast and then took a back way to my room. It apparently repeatedly happened at certain points. I felt unsafe after that encounter. 3) cleaning staff basically barged into my room when the door said no service needed and basically broke down the lock. (I stayed prior to March 2024 but the review wouldn't let me go back that far.) It was all in all a terrible experience, would not recommend or go back.
