Sandman Signature Calgary Downtown Hotel

It is well located right on the rail line with easy access to the better parts of Calgary,….. the lady at check in was clearly having a bad day , like she was going out of her way to help us , other staff were friendly enough . The room was a decent size and appeared clean , but i was itching both nights and woke up with a rash all over my back ….moxies was a good experience with great staff and food… The worst part , and no fault of the hotel, was the homeless and severely drug affected people in the hotel precinct. I have personally never seen anything like it , and it was disturbing, don’t venture over the road to maccas or Tom hortons…..Tony.A

Room was great, staff were great, bed was extremely comfy

As a single mature woman was not always comfortable with the area

Comfortable room in an ok location, accessible to CBD and fringe points of interest. Restaurant offered a range of enjoyable food and beverage offerings, and 'day of the week' deals.

Calgary itself is an ok city but for the unfortunate predicament of the homeless and drug use. Around the Sandman it sadly appeared prevalent.

We ate our breakfast from McDonald's across the Street, but for our supper we ate in the restaurant on site, Moxie's for the 3 days. The food was excellent, salads fresh, burgers done perfectly. The service and prices were very good too.

There was no decaf coffee in room. I did go to the front desk and asked for some on our second night, she checked in a room behind the desk. There wasn't any ,so she took our room number and said someone would bring some up. We stayed another day and 1/2 and I never got the decaf coffee. That would be my only thing that could have been done better.

Location and service

We were placed next to the elevators and it was loud and another room had a party all night

The room was ok but the decoration a bit dated

Problems to get an invoice that covers the whole payment made on booking, the room hasn't been clean in 1 week.
