Breakfast was good quality and plenty of choice

David was very helpful when taking the booking. We went with elderley parents who have mobility issues. The easy access room that they were given the radiator did not work although there was an electric radiator in the room it wasn't really adequate. The grab rails in the bathroom are for people in a wheelchair to use the bathroom. The disabled parking is not accessible at the front of the property as it has been sectioned off and tables and chairs put on top. This signals that people with difficulty are not welcome! We were only staying 1 night and not using the facilities but the breakfast was good.

Th two staff I spoke to were very polite and helpful, especially David who changed my room following concerns.

Poor lighting from car park to hotel entrance. No signs of life /atmosphere. No central heating working just oil filled radiator. No hot water ( even after the suggested wait for 10 minutes)so boiled a kettle to have a wash! Very basic breakfast and greeted with” I’m afraid we don’t have any bread yet today”.

Staff are brilliant. I was warned by the gentleman on reception when I arrived that it was an old building and that the water takes a while to warm up. However, had a lovely hot bath, and the hotel is lovely and warm, while retaining all its character.

Excellent venue - so close to Hitchin - easy to park and free. Breakfast very good - staff very helpful.

Stayed in the main old building - and told hot water took a while to kick in - it didn’t get very hot when showering.

Great location

They fixed the main bedroom window that wouldn't physically close and broken handle on the side table that was hanging off. The orange juice at breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was offered with a main bedroom window that wouldn't physically close (it's still quite cold at night). The bathroom window had the same issue and was not fixed. There was no drinking water in the room. The tea and coffee machine kept breaking down at breakfast. The hotel was hacked and all guests phone numbers and reservation details were leaked so I immediately got a fishing email to pay for services from a fake business account on WhatsApp. My details were leaked and there has been no contact or apology from the hotel!
