Pacific Hotel Shiroishi

ホテル横を走行JRの音で、深夜何度か目が覚めました。

The hotel is right next to Shiroishi station which is not to be confused with Shiroishizao but which is about 1000 yen taxi ride from Shiroishizao or one local train stop. The hotel staff were very accommodating and allowed us to store our luggage before our room was ready while we went to the Fox village. I really enjoyed the quietness of Shiroishi. The room was clean although small. The toilet area was cramped but navigable. Many Japanese bath areas have a peculiar smell to them but the odor was less intense than in some places and with the door closed one doesn't notice it. The electrical and USB ports were well placed. The windows open and allow fresh air in. The mattresses are firm and comfy. I slept well

The rooms are on the small side.

Location is very convenient to the local JR station (about 20-25 minute walk from the Shinkansen station). Also very close to the bus that runs twice a day to and from the fox village (my main reason for visiting Shiroishi) with less than five minutes walk across the train line overpass. The Shiroishi castle is quite close and there are many local eateries nearby. Check in and check out were both very easy and the staff at the reception desk were all very nice.

The only real downside is the distance from the Shinkansen. It didn't impact me as the train I caught from Tokyo stopped at Fukushima or Sendai so I had to transfer to a local train to reach Shiroishi anyway. Plan accordingly.

泊まるところが少ない場所で安価なホテルを教えて下さり良かったです。朝食もバイキングで、種類もあり、美味しかったです。

家族で日曜に利用したのですが夕飯を食べようとしたら周辺の店が殆どやってなく（20時）・・・ 代行車があるのを確認して車で10不分程走った中華屋さんに入りました。 それが正解で美味しかったです。 でも駅前のホテルなので出来れば車移動なく食事が出来れば楽でした。 帰りは白石城（復元）観光をして帰ってきましたが、不便も環境も観光も含め楽しい思い出にはなりました。
