Residence Inn by Marriott Seattle South Tukwila

It was fine

Typical “extended stay” conditions as in being dated and needs maintenance attention. Our Upgraded unit Smelled like cat litter no matter how much Lysol we sprayed. Not optimal for luggage mobility with 2 sets of stairs to climb for units above the 1st floor. Starting to be the norm for independently owned Marriott properties not consistent with Marriott standards. Overnight stay and location was just to be close to the airport but couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

Layout

Bed my back was hurting. My husband kneck was hurting but everything else was wonderful.

My family and I stayed in this hotel because our house was going under some repairs due to a damage, everything was going fine until my car was vandalized and claimed a total loss, I went to the front desk to speak with the manager and told them what happened, they couldn't check the cameras because there were no cameras installed, yet they charge a $12 fee a day for parking , they did not care what happened to my vehicle or offer an apology, we had to endure a long stay in this hotel for about 3 months until the repairs of the house were completed, when we finally were ready to leave the hotel, my son's tablet and his Nintendo switch were stolen from the room, we complained about the safe box been broken multiple times and when someone went to fix the box they couldn't fix it, after reporting this problem to the administration, they offered no solution, they blamed us for not putting our valuables in the small safe box in the front desk, like the tablet and Nintendo switch would fit in there. My advice is, if you have valuable items make sure the safe box works properly, or you will have your belongings stolen, also, use a steering wheel lock to protect your vehicle in the hotel parking lot or you will run into the same problem and the headache of dealing with insurance, especially if your insurance do not cover for a rental car.

This hotel is wonderfully setup for family trips, full kitchen, decent fridge and well situated sitting areas.

The breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable.

1. The toilets were too low to the ground. We ended up buying a portable toilet seat from Lowe's. My husband is 6'5" and had 3 back surgeries in the last year. The Residence Inn should have 16-19 inch high toilets, or have rental of toilet seats for tall people. 2. There were stains on the couch cushions.
