Mudbrick Cottages

The Mudbrick Olive is a stunning cottage inside and out and the location is breathtaking with views of Auckland and vineyards, farm land and water. Everything was perfect from the setting, to the beautifully appointed cottage. Comfortable bed and elegant bathroom. Excellent breakfast each morning. It is a short drive in to town but but we appreciated the quiet and the cottage is on the property of the Mudbrick Winery with excellent lunch, dinner and wine and nearby hiking.

Amazing location with spectacular view

We were able to store our luggage at the winery prior to our afternoon check-in which was greatly appreciated. A bottle of Mudbrick sparkling wine was waiting for us in the fridge and supplies got a continental breakfast were delivered to our room. The outlook from the Olive Cottage was amazing - close enough to the winery that we could hear the afternoon music, but totally private so it felt tucked away from view. And then of course the actual view out over the olive trees and vineyards to the bay and the city of Auckland sparkling off in the distance. Wow.

The only improvement I can recommend is to provide better wine glasses for the sparkling wine. Lovely winery-logo red wine glasses were in the room, but the champagne flutes were thick, chunky and felt cheap.

The location is just so beautiful and the views are sensational. The cottage is just so lovely and very comfortable. The staff were fabulous!

Just a few suggestions really… To have a pick up and drop off to the ferry terminal would really make the stay a lot smoother. The sparkling wine was lovely but as the region is primarily a red wine area, I think that would have been more suitable. It would have been lovely to have a few games/cards/puzzles in the cottage. Especially when the weather is unfavorable.

Lo único que no nos gustó (venimos de españa y allí tenemos buenos vinos y catas de vinos) es que la cata de vinos del hotel te la hacen de pie, en una sala oscura cuando tienen una terraza muy bonita.
