"Great view, not a great property if you’re allergic to pet hair"

7.0

The view was great, the kitchen was well stocked.

1. I asked for our bedding to be the two double beds, which was acknowledged. When we arrived it was a double and a single that had been made up, which made this awkward for our stay for adults. 2. Per hair - everywhere. Whilst I was aware that the property was pet friendly, I didn’t expect that this mean the property would be full of pet hair - which then meant both of us experienced allergies and had to take medication. This seemed to be a particular issue in the downstairs bedroom. 3. There were mosquitoes in the master bedroom, so there is either an issue with the security screens or some other problem given the reviews of others. 4. The dishwasher doesn’t appear to clean well, we had to re-soak dishes several times. 5. Dust - the property didn’t feel overly clean, it feels like the cleaning was only basic or rushed, or not done across the whole property. The downstairs property in particular was very dusty. We’ve stayed in several properties in Coles Bay in the past, and while this had the most ideal layout (especially if we came with a group), the points above mean we’d be unlikely to rebook this property, which is disappointing.

"Passable"

5.0

Property layout was good in terms of kitchen and main bedroom and bathroom on the top floor, to make the most of the views. Sliding doors all had fly screens so that was great to get some fresh air and breeze through the house. A couple of separate seating areas was also fantastic.

The downstairs level seems to have flooded previously, and there is a strong mould smell present. I'm glad I didn't have to sleep in the downstairs zone for this reason. The skirting boards are all buckled. The lock box could be tweaked slightly to have a hanger for the keys, and also a less fiddly opening - you needed two hands to open it. The crockery and cooking ware was fairly well stocked, but there was no coffee machine which was disappointing - only plunger. There was limited dishwashing powder provided, and the dishwasher seemed a little temperamental - only washing one drawer at a time. There also seemed to be a lot of moisture present in the upper level, with mosquitoes well acquainted with the bathroom and bedroom upstairs - it would appear other guests had the same experience with a large number of mosquito kills present on the walls and ceiling! For a pet friendly property there also wasn't any water bowl on the deck, and the side gate didn't shut/close properly - so didn't feel that dogs could actually be enclosed in the backyard area.

Amazing views and beautiful place. Plenty of space and great facilities. Heater was on when we arrived so the property was already nice and warm. Wish we stayed longer!

"Spectacular view and great location, perfect for two families"

10.0

View and location are spectacular. We enjoyed the open fire. The kids walked down to Muir’s beach for a swim. A great house for two families. We definitely should have stayed longer!

The weather was not on our side so our kayaking tour was cancelled.
