Ichingo Chobe River Lodge

Fabulous, friendly and efficient staff, especially our guides Robert and Nicholas who were very knowledgeable regarding the wildlife, boat handling and fishing. The food was first class and the river location very private and special.

The camp is older and charming but could do with some upgrading. Unfortunately there were issues with the pool so we couldn't swim which was disappointing given the heat. The steps up into the bathroom in our cabin were quite steep and for safety need some low level lighting at night.

The service was beyond measure. So welcoming and Kennedy is a true gem as the coordinator for this lodge- Always smiling warm and welcoming. The people make the place. It is also impeccably clean.

The lodge is situated at the most idyllic location with rushing Chobe River right outside our tent. The tented room is very roomy and comfortable with a large bathroom and AC. The staff, especially Kennedy and our guide Patrick, Cassius, and Melody, Presley (sorry, I don't recall all the names) are all wonderfully courteous and attentive. Every trip out on the river is magical. We saw so many animals and the river is just beautiful. There is something very serene about seeing animals from the boat. The free laundry was so helpful. After more than 2 weeks of travel, it was nice to be able to pack our bags with all clean clothes on our return journey home.

The room is slightly dark, but we were not in the room very much at all during the day as we were having fun on the river. So it was not a big deal.
