Hilton Addis Ababa

An amazing experience. From emails from the incredible Tolani before arriving to make sure we have what we need to the helpful proactive concierges Tewodros A, Dawit N and Tadesse F, it was amazing. And I have to mention Marech the legend who is in the lounge and creates a family atmosphere. Then of course the front desk are so helpful and friendly Hanna F was amazing.

It was one of the best hotels in addis specially the team members concierge tewodros and teamir, toleni, mustafa are best

The service and foods was amazing, apecially mekdes, she was wonderful, her hospitality, her smile everything was fantastic .

Lo staff dell’albergo è gentilissimo ed il cibo presso il ristorante di fianco alla piscina è ottimo con una grande scelta e prezzi contenuti.

Non mi è piaciuto assolutamente trovare la piscina principale chiusa e l’atteggiamento del direttore tedesco che sosteneva che avrei avuto comunque 4 piscine disponibili su 5. Peccato che le 4 piscine erano per bambini 5 metri x 5 con un’altezza massima di 90-100 cm!!! Su Booking all’atto della prenotazione nessuno citava che la piscina principale era ormai chiusa da mesi!!! Per me che amo nuotare, un grande dispiacere ed un vero furto!!! Se l’avessi saputo avrei prenotato altrove.

Our stay at Hilton Addis Ababa was truly memorable, largely thanks to the incredible hospitality we received. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Fitsum Tesfaye. He went above and beyond to make sure my family and I were comfortable and had everything we needed. It’s rare to find someone so dedicated and professional. If you are visiting, look for Fitsum Tesfaye—he truly represents the best of this hotel!

Sometimes it feels like I live in hotels. I travel the world and have for some forty years now. I don’t write reviews because they leave a trail but with regard to Addis Hilton an exception is necessary. . There are many hotels in the beautiful modern city of Addis Ababa. Hyatt, Sheraton, Skylight to name just three . Addis Abeba has a fair bunch of chic boutique hotels too. I love them all but my first choice will always be Addis Hilton. You can not build time but you can build on time and that is what it does. It gets better and better. The Addis hotel was commissioned by Emperor Haile Selassie at a time of great ambition for Addis Ababa and The Hilton brand. The positive outlook from which it was built is reflected in the rebirth of Addis today. If you have time walk five minutes and visit the newly refurbished Palace Grounds. Take a walk in friendship park. See the light. Go to the coffee houses and cool café’s of kazanchis and Bole. If you haven’t got time, make time. Addis is a beautiful city and the Addis Hilton claims its rightful place at the head. Getting down to business. The swimming pool is a star in the Hilton constellation. It is naturally heated spring water is an unforgettable experience. Go and rest by it. Swim in it. Or sit in Gazebo restaurant and let the staff serve you in the impeccable timeless way of The Addis Hilton. There is a bar there too. It's where I had the best Ginger Tea of my life. I sound like an advert. I don’t care. The breakfast at the restaurant is impeccable. Sit inside the restaurant or at the tables outside and eat your morning fruits, or your full english, or your omlette, or pastries, (the list of foodstuffs for breakfast is endless) while listening to the birds in the flora and fauna. Thank you to all the staff, thanks to Makonnen for looking after me and Mulugeta. If it wasn’t for the astounding parks across the way I might say this is the greenest place in the heart of the city. The trees go back to The Emperors time - outside breakfast is the best . Addis Hilton is modern in the timeless way of Chanel. I love how the honey coloured light pours in from the windows high up in the reception area. Let’s get to the reception staff and the concierge. They are attentive, alert discreet and kind. My favourite staff member (it is hard to choose) is Rahel Endale. Her attention to detail and her need to make sure you are well is wonderful to experience. It is The Hilton at its best. And also all the concierge team. They are the best. . Great service is always reflected in the concierge. No job is too small, no task is too great. Whatever you need they will take care of you. I have stayed in some incredible hotels aaround the world from Taprobone Island (the whole island is one hotel) to Lotte New York Palace Hotel. The Addis Hilton is my favourite of them all. The café outside serves perfect coffee and pastries made with love. Next door to the pastry shop is The Hilton store which has anything you need. Shall I talk about the rooms now. My superlatives are ready. First the views. The higher you go the more astounding the view. All the rooms have balconies. And all the balconies have Addis. Sit and watch the stars by night and the city by day. The rooms are perfect for me. My father partied at this hotel. My mother had her wedding party at this hotel. You might walk through reception and see Ato Mulatu Astatke the internationally famous Ethiopian Jazz musician, or a television star over from America. Go to the Addis Hilton soak in the atmosphere of a timeless shining star of Addis life. I have only given you a glimpse. There is so much more. Ethiopian Airlines is stationed near the reception area, there is a bank, all the cash tills, hairdressers, great leather stores, gold and silver stores. And then there is the coffee circle by reception: traditional Ethiopian coffee served in the traditional way, with a circle of chairs and a whole lot of talking and whispering. Joyous modern timeless Addis at its best. Thank you Rahel, thank you Claus and thanks to all the staff. Oh I didn't mention the security. All good venues and institutions are held together by good security. The security staff at The Hilton are the best! Go to The Addis Hilton and get the relaxation you deserve. It is perfect for metings too. Centre of town and yet a haven of peace. I should have mentioned price. The price fits the bill and the food and drinks are cheap compared to London and Manchester where I live. .

The stay was good. The room were clean, and the staff were polite. It was suitable for a short visit. Our focal Mekedes was very cooperative and was there whenever we need support from the hotel.
