We arrived about 4:15pm and was told our room wasn't ready. We asked how long it would be until a room was available. The person checking us in said they didn't know but we could wait in the lobby and she took our cell phone info. Other people were also waiting. About an hour into our wait the front desk person came to the lobby and handed out some rooms. She informed us we were next on the list. After waiting for about another hour we noticed the front desk checking in several people. I went to the front desk and asked why we weren't notified our room was ready. She said she couldn't leave the front desk because she had a line of people to check in. I don't see why they had priority over us who had been waiting almost 2 hours. So much for having reservations.

We were only here for one night, but everything was great. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was good, and there was a lot of free parking. The only issue we had was with the breakfast. There was no one actively refilling things, so there was very little available. Otherwise, it was all great.

My name is Rafaela Rosa Crispim, the main guest on this reservation. The incident occurred at the Hampton Inn Birmingham-Colonnade 280 during my confirmed stay from September 1st to September 5th, 2025. This situation is extremely serious and unprecedented. In addition to contacting Hilton Guest Assistance, we are already in direct communication with the Brazilian Embassy in the United States, our legal team, as well as the Ministry of International Relations of Brazil. As a guest, I was subjected to humiliation, xenophobia, and repeated improper attempts to charge my credit cards, which resulted in all of them being blocked abroad. I also emphasize that I serve in a diplomatic role in Human Rights in the United States, which makes this discriminatory conduct even more alarming and unacceptable. Additionally, I request the immediate identification of the receptionist involved, as she refused to provide her name when asked, further obstructing accountability for the incident.

Email from Hotels.com indicated we could check in beginning at 6 a.m. Arrived at the hotel at 1:30 p.m., and was told there would be a $50 fee for checking in before 3 p.m. Explained that the Hotels.com emails all had the 6 a.m. time listed, but hotel management refused to waive the fee.

They have recently upgraded the decor and it is welcoming and cleaner than a couple years ago. Only challenging thing is not enough lights for seniors.
