"Terrible experience, poorly ran"

After checking in to the room, the key didn't work. I walked all the way back to the front desk, which was locked, and the employee wasn't there. I called the hotel multiple times & rang the doorbell for about 15 minutes. After going back to my family and loading the sleepy toddlers back into the vehicle, we drove around searching for the employee. After finding her leaving a room she let us into our room which was not as their website showed, & was not non smoking as requested. "Renovated" Really? When, 20 years ago?

The property was in a bad area, there were other guests just hanging out in their doorways watching people. The inside was not very clean, the tub stopper didn’t work & the bathroom had mold and hair

I was slightly disappointed after reading such great reviews on this hotel. Pros - It was in a great, quiet, and convenient location. The customer service was good. Cons- The room was not very clean, I understand it may be an older hotel and while that does show that shouldn’t affect the cleanliness. My daughter walked barefoot on the floor for less than an hour and her feet were completely covered in dirt. The shower didn’t drain well so I was showering in standing water. I also specifically book a non smoking room but it was clear the room had most definitely been smoked in. The price was very affordable and so maybe that’s what I get for the price but I just expected more based on the reviews that I read before I booked it.
