"Amazing historic hotel in a great area 100% recommend"

10.0

Stayed for one night as part of a Route 66 trip, this is a iconic and very cool hotel full of history, beautifully decorated and at the same time homely, the staff on check in were very friendly and helpful and included details on different things you could do at the hotel, the car park is free and the hotel backs into the railway line and enthusiasts can sit on chairs watching the freight trains roll by, whilst the trains seem to run constantly we didn’t notice lots of noice, the hotel did provide air plugs if needed, we didn’t, we would definitely stay here again, and the local area is packed with interesting things and great food, it also has some statues to recognise the Eagles band and famous song

The facility and gardens are charming, and aging.

Without ceiling lights the rooms are dark. They seemed to be having some problems with the plumbing. We stayed four nights, and on one occasion the shower had only hot water.

"Fabulous Setting for a Summer Wedding Weekend"

10.0

We had a fabulous wedding at la Posada in July of 2025. From start to finish the team at la Posada was helpful, warm and generous with their time. The biggest applause goes to Sarah, our event co-ordinator and planner from the hotel. She thinks of everything and gives attention to detail. Aside from the business side of things, Sarah is just about the nicest person ever to work with. I think we are friends now! Having an event at La Posada when the well tended gardens are in full bloom added to the charm of this special hotel. Our many guests enjoyed all hotel amenities during the long weekend. The rooms, suites and casitas were clean, welcoming and authentic southwestern in decor. The seated buffet dinner under the tent was so delicious and beautifully prepared. Cheers to the chef who managed to satisfy everyone with true New Mexican cuisine. (There are many dining options, we chose the New Mexican route.) So many capable men and women made our weekend great: polite and efficient valets, helpful front desk people, great servers in the restaurants and bars and the patient booking agent, Andrea, who helped us along with Sarah. A+ La Posada.

"Extremely disappointed!"

3.0

Best thing about the entire property was the Valet and shuttle service. 100%.

From the time I called to let them know we are going to be delayed at check-in, the front desk staff was curt and short with me. When we arrived, again , staff was not courteous and not excited to see us with absolutely no explanation of the property. We had no idea where anything was in terms of amenities and totally left defend for ourselves. A small minor complaint is there is absolutely no gift shop or ability to buy last-minute items that you may have forgotten. The first room we stayed in was next to a busy road With faulty plumbing spoiled half-and-half in the coffee maker and one of the worst rooms I think they could give us. We complained and they reluctantly moved us to a second room which is next to a kitchen prep area that started work at 4 o'clock in the morning which woke us up . The management has absolutely no regard for the guest experience. The second room had faulty air-conditioning and smelt completely of smoke from the fireplace. At $700 a night for places like this I am baffled. Do not stay here until they provide a complete renovation of the rooms which were in my opinion dated and completely left to disrepair for a hotel of the caliber that they claim to be. The best part of the hotel was the complementary shuttle and pick up service and the valet stuff. I cannot say more good things about them. I love them all. That said, will never stay here again.

"Catfished by a hotel! How is this a MARRIOTT?!"

2.0

I was catfished by a hotel! HOW is this a Marriott?? As a Marriott member I am appalled. The photos online looked nice. Don't let them fool you. This is NOT what this place looks like. I travel weekly and I have NEVER stayed at a place like this, let alone a Marriott property. To begin, the valet gave me a very weird vibe and wanted to know what room I was in which, traveling alone, you do not do! They should never ask you questions like that out of safety and I did report this. When I was walking up to my room, there were no elevators or way to drag all my things up the stairs. I cannot imagine how elderly people or less capable individuals handle this. The moment I stepped foot into the room I just knew it would not be good. It had a musty, wet smell like the room had been sealed up for weeks. The first decor object was a large floor pot that was broken in half and the carpet was dark gray from the dirt. It was DISGUSTING. As I made my way to the bed, I noticed something moving on the curtain and went closer to inspect. There were BED BUGS all over the curtains and fabrics in the bedroom AND bathroom! I grabbed my suitcase and ran! I immediately notified the hotel, got my car from valet and drove off searching for any other hotel to stay at around 10pm at night. I made several complaints to the hotel AND Marriott and never heard back from anyone. I'm blown away that they don't take their customer's safety seriously and would rent out rooms in these conditions. It's appalling. Do better MARRIOTT. This place should not be a Marriott AND 'Marriott should actually respond to their complaints. I followed up several times so I don't want to get a response from them trying to save face and act like they actually care because they clearly don't.

Era veramente tutto perfetto, pulizia posizione e staff ottimo

"An embarrassment for Santa Fe"

4.0

This used to be a nice hotel. No more. I’ll start by saying that I live in Santa Fe (30+ years). I was also in the hotel business for many years here. I understand historic old buildings and know they can be charming & challenging. But this hotel is an embarrassment. I had to book a room last minute. I had to appear for a legal matter on a Zoom call and my Internet and phone both went out just hours before I was due to appear. My attorney called to make a reservation for me & explained I only needed the room for a few hours and really only needed a phone and internet. He was told to book online. He called back to let them know I was coming. I checked in at 1:45 for my 2:00 meeting. When I questioned the rate, I was told by the front desk manager that I should have booked the day rate. We would have if they would have taken our reservation when we first called. The front desk manager was rather unpleasant and refused to change the rate. Ok-I get it. But I expected the room to at least be adequate for a four diamond hotel. The room was awful. Dark and drab, no adequate lighting. The hallway to my room was filthy with leaves and debris on the floor. The carpet in the halls and in my room were filthy. The bathroom wall was streaked with something disgusting next to the toilet. The furnishings were dated, dreary. The room was so smoky that I had to open all the windows to get decent air. The screen fell off. Both the sink and the tub were dripping water (we are very water conscious in the high desert). The light in the bathroom was broken. The windows were dirty. The air conditioner was so loud that needed to turn it off for my call but the room was so dark, I couldn’t find the thermostat. I checked out after my zoom call at about 7:00pm. I asked the valet to please pull my car up to the front since I am disabled. I tipped him well to bring my car. Although there were no other cars there at the time, he left my car parked at the bottom of the hill with the keys on the visor. I asked the front desk to please check me out. They said it was “all taken care of.” I asked for a copy of my charges. The girl went into the back and I waited and waited. When no one came back, I left. No one asked me about my stay or let me know what was happening. There was no one in the lobby or at the front desk. My clothes and hair reeked of smoke. So about five hours of bad service and a really dirty dark smoke filled room for the low low price of $556.00. As a Santa Fean who lives less than 2 miles from La Posada, I take great pride in my community. There are many lovely hotels in downtown Santa Fe but this hotel is truly awful. I hope management will take notice and realize that this hotel is in desperate need of renovation and proper maintenance and the staff needs training to represent what you claim to be a luxury property. Only the location gives this hotel anything noteworthy.
