ibis Montpellier Centre Comédie

This was a lovely hotel. We stayed 4 nights in October. Room was spacious enough and had AC (it was still hot this month). Very quiet and a comfortable bed. Bathroom was spacious enough, but I do not like that there is NO place to put your things in the shower - there's just this little, round soap holder that is completely useless. It's so annoying - why can't hotels give you some ledge or shelf space in the shower area to place your things - ugh! The breakfast was terrifice!! It's in a room down in the basement, which is cheerful, spacious, and cozy. The selections are very good!! You can choose from all kinds of breads, cereals, eggs, yogurt, fruits, jams, pastries, toast, crepes, juices..... There are two coffee machines that provide good, quality coffees of your choosing and a great selection of teas. The breakfast is probably the best part. The people are very friendly and helpful. It's located right in the Triangle of the older and charming part of Montpellier where there are many shops and gorgeous old-style streets lined with outdoor dining. It's also walking distance to the train station and the trams run right by there, so it's VERY convenient to everything. I highly recommend this hotel and where it's located.

Very convenient location on the edge of the old town. Underground parking at €15 a day. Friendly staff. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t review that.

Hotel is doing the bare minimum in most areas. Rooms are large but spartan with tacky posters describing “services.” Overall sort of grimy feeling to everything. Example - they needed to make a change to the floor map in the elevator, so they used white-out to cover the incorrect info and to draw in the new … tacky. Special note - if you’re coming from the train station, there is an entrance on the mall level, but it’s a little hard to find, then you have to take the elevator down to reception - otherwise you have to walk around the block to get to the entrance.

City centre location

Quite difficult to find, but once found, felt away independent and 'far' from the shopping centre next door. In a very convenient location, lots of food, shopping, drinks etc.

I always check in IBIS MONTPELLIER triangle place de la comedie and next to Polygone center . I have even sometimes showed up without pre booking hence they were supportive. It is literally in the heart of the city just exactly where everyone would like to be when visiting Montpellier.

Aside from being a really ugly building, the hotel is OK. Hallway carpets are filthy but the room was clean, and everything worked ok. Good enough bed. Location is perfect for the central walking neighborhood and the train station. Entrance can be confusing to find, but it's there.

We were really pleased with our stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful which we always appreciate when travelling with a 6 month old baby. The elevators were big enough for a pram as well which isn't always the case. There was a water cooler in reception which was very handy as it was a warm day while we were there. The gentleman on reception very kindly helped us heat our food for tea, and there was the use of a fridge to store some food overnight. The fact that the staff all spoke fluent English was massively helpful, I can speak some French but not really enough, and it just makes our stay so much easier. On the morning of checkout, we checked out early to go an catch our train but found our train was cancelled, but the hotel were very helpful in allowing us to check back in to the room for a few hours while we waited for the next train, again this was very helpful with a baby who needed to nap. The location is also great being near the main square so a pleasant walking tour is easy to do.
