Spice Island Beach Resort

I actually stayed here in May 2024, so the review is a year late apologies! This was a wonderful resort, the owner has done a fantastic job and she should be proud of herself! The chef is terrific and I would go as far as to say he is an artist. The host and the staff are brilliant! Nothing is too much of an ask. The beach is public however it is beautiful and did not cause us any issues. Simply a wonderful hotel with wonderful people running it. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Had a fabulous two week holiday at Spice island. Arrived to wonderful welcome by Seymour , a manager and bell boy. We were treated like royalty with welcome towel and drink. Escorted to our lovely garden room whilst explaining everything we needed to know. The room was beautiful and wonderfully clean as was the whole resort. Set on the beautiful grand Anse beach it was a visual delight . The gardens , bars and restaurants were superb Food was delicious . We were blown away by the daily delights. Every day you are checked on by the lovely Fabian and some of the supervisors . They really want everyone to have a perfect holiday. This is the first time I won’t name individual staff members. They are all wonderful. Everyone so friendly. Enjoyed getting to know everyone over the two weeks We did upgrade for our last 5 days to a sea grape room. Wow these rooms are amazing. Set on the beautiful beach . The entertainment was great but would like to have more ? Maybe every other night as a suggestion. We are planning to return to this wonderful place . The hotel is luxurious, relaxing and impeccably clean. Most of the staff are very warm, friendly and engaging. They also offered a picnic lunch when we went on excursions, and had several activities for young children. My only issues were the food and air condition in the room, which kept defaulting to 22/23 degrees Celsius, making it a tad too warm to have a great night’s sleep. The food quality wasn’t consistent, with some items being too salty and others quite bland. The breakfast and tea menus were the same for every day which was disappointing and none of the dishes were memorable.

We stayed at Spice Island Beach Resort a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic time. The beach was the most beautiful, swimmable beach we have ever seen. The rooms and property were very well manicured and comfortable. I did find in funny that there was no hand soap in the bathrooms. The breakfasts and lunches were all delicious and all the bar staff were terrific. We were disappointed in the dinners at Oliver's restaurant. The spa was fantastic! I went to a yoga class on Monday with "May" that was the best yoga class I have ever taken. I returned for yoga on Wednesday April 9th with a different instructor and it was not a positive experience. The instructor was knowledgeable about yoga, but was not attentive and I actually felt like I was being reprimanded. The class was a one hour class and I was her only student. She literally ended 5 minutes early and was walking away down the beach before I even had my shoes on. Overall, we loved the resort and we would return in the future and refer others to Spice Island Beach Resort.

As soon as you arrive here you know you are somewhere special. The view through the lobby to the Caribbean is amazing. The welcome is friendly with a welcome cocktail. The hotel is not big which is part of its appeal. It is quiet and allows you to relax and enjoy the beautiful gardens and Grand Anse beach. The location cannot be beaten, right on the beach. The staff really set this place apart. They are so friendly and helpful. Service is exceptional from everybody. The food is great and plentiful, I haven’t eaten so much good food in a long time.

As the title of my review says it all! - I've been to countless all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Spice Island Beach Resort is by far the best. It certainly has earned its 5 Star Conde Nast rating. Everything from the accommodations to the spa to the dining and impeccable customer care; I cannot say enough praises about this place! They go above and beyond to ensure you have an unforgettable vacation experience. Special shout out to Cleon and Elizabeth. Cleon served us at the bar but also served as entertainment on our sunset cruise. We asked for custom drinks, and he was happy to oblige. Elizabeth helped us plan a private tour of the Island including stops of our choosing. What made it extra special was the picnic lunch the resort provided for us to have lunch on our day tour. Wow! Spice Island says they feed you whether you're on their property or on an all day tour. Don't hesitate to book your stay. You will not be disappointed! M. Miller

We are quite well travelled including the Caribbean Islands. This was our first trip to Grenada and Kuoni recommended the SIR. This is a beautiful resort in an idyllic setting right on the beach - particularly if you opt for a Sea Grape suite. The staff are brilliant from Arrival to Departure - cannot be faulted as they are so friendly and helpful. The standard of accommodation and service is high and you are made to feel so welcome. We would parrot some of the other reviews in that the Dinner Menus whilst good are a little restricted as to choice and it may be a further restaurant area is required to compliment the Fine Dining. What however made this holiday so enjoyable was the staff and we think we should name a few who made our stay so special and so much fun. Cleon (Entertainment), Damian (Gardener), Dwight (Beach), Kevin (Bar), Kennish, Shanna, Martha, Tracey, Katrina, Kate-Donna - this is not an exclusive list but perhaps goes to show the level of service. We had a wonderful and relaxing time

Our travel agent recommended Spice Island, and it did not disappoint. We had one of the wonderful sea grape suites - in fact the very last one #47 - and it was amazing. You're just steps from the gorgeous beach with chairs ready just for you and a hammock to swing in at night, dotted with shade from the beautiful sea grape trees. So nice and private. The small resort feels like an enclave, an oasis all to itself, and we left wanting to come back. What really set it apart was the service. Understated, impeccable and personal, the staff made our stay exceptional. Darvina, the concierge, arranged for an awesome jeep tour to the rainforest and a visit to a local children's home, and when the home's director happened to be at the resort, Darvina called and asked if we would like to meet her - such a nice touch. Another staff member made cookies for us to take! The "All-inclusive" term worried us a bit when it came to food, but every meal was delicious! Plenty of breakfast items on the buffet (housemade granola, fruit, etc) and lots to order (excellent pancakes etc) and then really special food plus regular American fare at lunch and dinner. We had a hard time picking our favorite dishes - from coconut shrimp appetizer to fresh fish to brushetta trio to amazing desserts like frozen lime yogurt and crumble to nutmeg ice cream with cashew tart, we enjoyed it all! We will absolutely go back to Spice Island!

Excellent trip came for my 51st bday really enjoyed the fitness classes and daily activities with Jeremy and Roniesha their energy was awesome. Those fitness instructors were attentive and full of joy. This made workout during vacation feel like a birthday party for real!!

Following the pack, it would be easy to give 5 out of 5, which seems to be the trend. There are wonderful aspects to this hotel - beautiful gardens, a gorgeous beach, wonderful pool area and gym/spa, many lovely staff, a very high standard of food quality, exceptional cleanliness, a nice welcome, a great all-inclusive deal, and a lovely relaxed attitude to checking out at a mutually agreeable time. There are also some pretty basic areas where Spice Island does not live up to its 5-star rating, when compared with other 5-star establishments, in my experience. In short they were the absence of visible leadership, the unfriendly attitude of some F&B staff towards guests, some excruciatingly long delays for food orders to be served, some issues of tiredness and poor maintenance in our suite, and a lack of information about hotel activities and facilities. I dithered between 3 and 4 for this hotel, and chose 4 in recognition of the great features and the good people, but there is room for improvement, and I would have been happy to share all of these comments, in detail, with the hotel management, if I had been asked, or if I had known who to engage.
