Yu Cafe Hostel

Location is great in the old center. Lots of communal space, although I was there in low season so there wasn’t any socialising when I was there.

Room and bathroom facilities are quite rundown, toilet in wet area is not ideal.

Really good location in the centre of the old town, close to attractions and the weekend night market. Staff were helpful, for example when I got locked out they let me back in and gave me an extra key card so my partner and I could come and go separately if needed. Kitchen facilities were good and outdoor seating area was a nice touch.

WiFi was not reliable, when it worked it was great but then there would be hours at a time when you just couldn't connect or load anything. Toilet facilities/shared bathrooms (especially the female ones) were constantly wet and covered in hair as the toilet cubicles also have showers in them. Layout of the beds in the private room was very strange, the air conditioner was right above the top bunk and didn't reach the bottom bunk so the person in the top bed was always cold and the one below was too hot. Fan also didn't hit the bottom bunk as the top bunk was wider so blocked the air. The door of the room had a large glass panel with only a thin blind/curtain. Because the hallway had automatic lights, every time someone left their room or used the shared toilet the light would come into our room. The walls were also very thin so there was a lot of noise during the night as people were having showers and using the hairdryer until 2am, so we didn't sleep very well.

Staff was very friendly and able to suggest good eatery (Chris 😘) they went extra mile to find place for stay since their place is pack and unable to extend night. Strategic location and walking distance to places around and easy to get grab to samila/chalatat beach

The toilet in 1st floor need to be refurbished abit and place requires extensive cleaning -too dusty 😞

When I saw the dormitory bed price for 15USD of this hostel,I was expecting this must be an amazing hostel since they listed a European -standard-rate in Thailand,However at the end,I was completely and absolutely disappointed. In terms of service,I booked a 6-bed dorm but the staff put me in a 8 bed dorm, I did inform the staff about this ,and he just said: It's the same ,while the night staying there,the WiFi is totally not working,so I had to go to a bar to use the Internet to deal with some urgent work stuff. And this property is indeed with some hygiene issue,it's an old building in the rain season.so the room and toliet is mouldy everywhere, and the bed seems to have insects or bed bugs,I feel itchy all night,couldn't get a decent sleep. In the mean time,they use some very cheap material quilt,it's stuffy,extremely uncomfortable and unhealthy to sleep with it. Although they do have some nice and chic courtyard and relaxing and spacious living area but overall,I still really don't understand how did they get the confidence to sell 15USD for a dorm bed in a southeast Asia country with just an average service and quality? I really believe the management should rethink about it and match the market and value,otherwise this property will definitely running down in near future.

Only stayed for one night, the room was a bit small but we had everything we needed. It is on a great location, very close to all of sightseeing spots in Songhkla, and it offers a cute inner garden and a great smoking area on the rooftop. Cute cats 😊 Would come again!

The hostel is located in a charming old house in Songkhla Old Town (the location wouldn’t be better) and our private room was super comfy. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Well-equipped kitchen. We loved the friendly cats! Super recommend Yu Cafe Hostel and would definitely stay again :)
