The staff and property are awesome. I researched cockroaches before staying there for almost 2 months (with a day break every 3 weeks). There were very few reports. After 2 months I saw zero.

We were going to a show at the Oakland Arena and the La Quinta is very close so we could walk and miss the traffic and parking fee. The staff was very nice, room was clean, free breakfast, free on site parking and pet friendly. The area around the hotel seemed sketchy and a police officer warned us to be very careful while walking.

We were not expecting anything flash however the photos protray the place better than it was. Although it was close to the coliseum which was convenient, the location was not very desireable. The furniture in the lounge was falling apart and the furniture in the room was worn & tattered. You get what you pay for.

It is very old. The carpet,paint, ect is falling apart. The room smells awful. The bed is typical hard bed for a hotel. The pillows were very lumpy and hard. I am grateful i brought my own pillow. The place was cheap so you get what you pay for. The staff was friendly and helped us check in. It suited our needs for the one night. But i probably would not stay there again.
