We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in San Francisco. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well organized, and the overall atmosphere made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. A special highlight of our stay was Giacob. He is truly an asset to the hotel. His kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made a big difference for us. He went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable and taken care of, and his positive attitude created such a warm and friendly environment. Thanks to him, we felt completely at ease and really enjoyed our time here. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel to others!

I had a disappointing experience during check-in at this hotel. Check-in is listed as starting at 3 PM, and I arrived right at that time, expecting my reserved room to be ready. Unfortunately, the high-floor room I had specifically paid for was not available. Instead, I was offered a lower-floor room, which did not match my reservation. Another option was presented, but I was told there would be an additional $25 per person charge for three people. I found this unreasonable, especially since the hotel was unable to provide the room type I had already paid for. This situation was particularly frustrating because we had an event to attend at 6 PM and needed time to rest and get ready. The delay and lack of accommodation added unnecessary stress to our schedule. Overall, this was my first experience with Hyatt, and it left a poor impression. Due to how this situation was handled during check-in, I would not choose to stay at this location again.

The Hyatt Regency Downtown SOMA has become our go-to hotel whenever we visit San Francisco and we recommend it to our friends and family. We book their AAA Hot Deal, which is truly an unbeatable price for the quality, location, and overall experience. Every time we go, the front desk team and the valet staff are warm, efficient, and welcoming. The last time we were there the valet even charged up our hybrid/electric car without us even asking. The location is fantastic—just steps from San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and an easy, enjoyable walk to the Ferry Building Marketplace. We also love having Shoji nearby—it’s a great spot for coffee during the day and drinks at night. The rooms are clean, modern, with enough outlets. But what we really enjoy are the views. Last time we could see out to the Giants ballpark and the bay behind it. Overall, this hotel delivers excellent value, outstanding service, and a prime location.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced at any hotel. I was there on military business and checked out a day early. I checked out well before check out time around 8:30am, and the hotel refused to refund me for my last night there. While I was never provided any policy explaining early check out fees at the time of the booking, the hotel claims this policy is on their website, and it is not. They charged me an entire night's stay for leaving 1 day early. I've never heard of this before. Staff were completely cold and unapologetic that they scammed a military member for an entire night's stay. I've had to dispute the charge with my credit card company to get this resolved. Absolutely do not support this hotel and their unethical business practices. It is quite literally a scam.

Hotel exceeded our expectation's; room was serene and airy, with a spacious and open space layout plus excellent city and bay views. Lobby is chic and inviting. Bar area was a cool spot that called my name… “come hang out and mingle!” Plus, St. Patrick’s Church was RIGHT next door. We’ve stayed at Hyatt’s before and we will continue to do so; it’s our home away from home.

Excellent hotel, friendly and helpful staff, nice gym to work out in, water refilling stations throughout the hotel. It is within walking distance of Oracle Park which was the reason we went to SF. Parking was included with our AAA membership special. We were also able to save money by shopping at Trader Joe’s around the corner and kept food in our refrigerator in the room.
