Le Meridien Nice

Great hotel with clean rooms, breathtaking rooftop views, and a convenient heated pool. However, our booking experience through Expedia was very disappointing. Our card on file had expired, and the system canceled our reservation one week before arrival. It’s unclear whether this was Expedia’s or the hotel’s fault, as each blamed the other. We had originally booked our rooms back in January, and by the time of the cancellation—just a week before arrival—prices had increased significantly. While the hotel’s reservations associate did her best to help, it was disappointing that her management would not honor the original rate we had booked. Given the amount we spent (five nights, two rooms), I found it unacceptable that the hotel did not offer any flexibility and instead charged higher rates.

Fantastic location close to a huge variety of bars and restaurants and the most amazing views. Hotel is situated on a busy road but efficient double glazing shuts out all unwanted noise. Rooms very basic, no luxuries at all, sparse furnishing and a tiny balcony where the door only opens half way. Poor shower pressure and bathrooms need a bit of a refresher. Lovely roof top bar to enjoy sundowners. Didn’t use restaurant as so much choice around the immediate area. Would highly recommend Nice for short break, lots to see and do. Easy bus ride to Monaco 5 euro return with fabulous scenery on the way

Perfect location. It is across the street from the beach, next to the gardens, very close to lots of restaurants and a short walk to the old section of town. Rooms are modern, and clean, not luxurious though. The staff were very helpful.

We recently stayed at the Le Meridian Marriott property in Nice and had a mixed experience. On a positive note, the view from our room was absolutely beautiful and was easily the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the service fell well below expectations. We encountered several electrical issues in the room, which made our stay uncomfortable and inconvenient. The air conditioning was not working properly and never got cold, despite us requesting assistance multiple times. We also had to repeatedly ask staff to check the mini refrigerator, which did not seem to function correctly. What was most frustrating was the lack of responsiveness. Our questions were often left unanswered, and requests for basic items or assistance were either delayed or ignored altogether. For example we called three different times to front desk guest services for an electric outlet adapter and it was never brought up. We had to go to the front desk and demand it be given to us. For a brand like Marriott, we expected a much higher level of service and attention to guest needs. While the view was lovely, the ongoing issues and poor service made it difficult to enjoy our stay. We hope the hotel takes steps to improve both maintenance and customer service in the future.

I would heartily recomend this hotel. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable, I mean the beds and black out curtains with a coffee and tea maker, showers great and roomy. The rooftop pool is a sun trap with room for laps and also parasols close by to lounge in shade. Drinks served by nice staff and the food in the restaurant is pretty good - some dishes are delicious. Front desk is efficient and friendly - so I had a great experience with the staff there. I would always come here when in Nice. It was a really pleasurable stay and Nice can be a bit frantic, so it was really relaxing.
