Residence Inn Pinehurst Southern Pines

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. Overall, the hotel was clean, the rooms were spacious, and the kitchen was clean and convenient to use. We were satisfied with our stay at the hotel. However, the main reason we chose this hotel was because it advertised Tesla charging as available. Before booking, we even called to confirm that Tesla charging was possible. Unfortunately, when we arrived, all the Tesla chargers were broken and completely unmaintained. (We arrived a little after 10 PM, and our Tesla battery had only 7% remaining.) When we inquired at the front desk, the staff member said there was nothing she could do. Sadly, there were no nearby Tesla Superchargers, so we had to search for any available EV charging stations nearby. Most of them were not working either. Thankfully, we found one functional EV charger, but it charged very slowly. Even after two hours, the battery had not reached 20%. As a result, we had no choice but to drive 40 minutes to the nearest Tesla Supercharger to fully charge the battery before returning to the hotel. By the time we completed charging and returned, it was past 4 AM. (We had an early morning golf tournament the next day.) If the hotel had informed us in advance that all Tesla chargers were out of service when I called to inquire, we would not have chosen this hotel and could have avoided wasting so much time on the road. While the overall experience at the hotel was satisfactory, as a Tesla owner, I was extremely disappointed with the lack of maintenance of the Tesla chargers and the staff's lack of knowledge about their operational status. If you are expecting to charge your Tesla at this hotel, I highly recommend arriving with a fully charged battery beforehand.

Clean comfortable property

We had a wonderful stay. Our suite was gorgeous and so clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.We came because our family had their Christmas in Carthage . Our rooms were peaceful and quiet.

This is me and my family home away from home when we visit. We alway get the 2 bedroom suite with the fireplace. The rooms are clean and always stocked with the pots, pans, plates,and glasses for the kitchen. Front desk is always nice and have a smile. The continental breakfast is a little sad but other than that a great stay.

Very nice hotel and the hot breakfast was great. The satellite tv service was not that great bc it kept losing service but everything else made up for it.

The thermostat in our room was stuck on 72 degrees (very low heat), and was unable to be raised. This forced everyone in the room to be super cold all night and to have to sleep layered in extra clothing (hoodies, sweaters, etc) in order to keep from freezing. Also, the oven was dirty and I had to clean it prior to cooking my Thanksgiving meal. Additionally, there was food, apparently from a prior guest, left in the cabinets—which indicates to me that the room had not been thoroughly cleaned between rentals. Very disappointing, considering the caliber of the hotel that The Residence Inn is suppose to be. Checkout was also at 12pm, but the housekeeper attempted to enter the room at 9:30am, and had to be redirected. All very unacceptable. Lastly, the room was advertised as a ‘fireplace suite’, yet upon inquiring about purchase of fireplace logs to try and warm the room, we were advised that none were available for purchase at the front desk, as no shipment had yet come in for the season (the low that evening was about 40 degrees). The only decent feature about the stay was that the breakfast was really good. Otherwise, not at all as great of an experience as I expected, unfortunately.
