"Perfect stay in central Geneva"

9.0

Very central to WTO and parks and the lake. Very clean and old fashioned charm.

There was nothing to dislike other than a rather slow coffee machine at breakfast

Very good breakfast, I especially liked the gluten free bread option.

All was at least good.

"Bel hotel près du lac et des Nations unies"

9.0

L’hôtel n’est pas le plus moderne, mais il est en très bon état, propre et a tous les equipements nécessaires. Le personnel était aimable, et l’emplacement est parfait si on cherche quelque chose proche du quartier des nations unies et du lac. J’ai même pu marcher au centre de conférences. Le petit déjeuner n’offrait pas un énorme choix mais il était de bonne qualité donc je l’appréciais. Je ne peux que recommander cet hôtel.

"Good for most parts. Dissapointment in how an uncomfortable incident was handled"

3.0

The location was nice, room was clean and nice in every way. Breakfast was very good! The hotel had character.

At 5 AM, we were abruptly woken up by the emergency fire alarm in our room. Understandably shaken, we rushed downstairs expecting a real emergency, especially since a fire drill would be highly unusual in the middle of the night. When we reached the exit, we met a staff member who seemed surprised that we were rushing out, even though the alarm had been ringing for several minutes. He assured us there was no emergency and told us to return to our room to sleep. After such a shock, however, we struggled to fall back asleep for the rest of the night. When we asked the front desk for clarification the next morning, we were told that the night receptionist had briefly left the desk to attend to another task. During that time, a guest needed to exit the building immediately. Because the doors were locked and no staff was present, the guest pressed the emergency release button behind the desk to open the doors, which triggered the hotel-wide alarm. While the incident itself was highly disruptive, the lack of proactive communication afterward was the most disappointing part. The hotel’s only response was a generic apology note placed in the elevator. No effort was made to check in with guests or offer a small gesture of goodwill for the massive inconvenience. When I initially inquired about this, I was told nothing could be done. It was only after mentioning my disappointment a second time during checkout that the receptionist called a supervisor and offered us two complimentary drinks. Since we were literally on our way to the airport, this gesture unfortunately came too late to be of any use. To the management: A situation like this requires proactive hospitality. Even a small token offered automatically in the morning would have left a completely different impression. Having to repeatedly ask for the hotel to acknowledge the inconvenience left a disappointing aftertaste to our stay.
