Sandman Hotel & Suites Kelowna

Everything was just fine

Hi, I’m writing to express my disappointment with our stay at the Sandman. It was not communicated to us beforehand that the hotel is undergoing renovations. The entire facility smells damp, and unfortunately, the air conditioning in our room is not working properly, which made our stay quite uncomfortable. We expected a more pleasant experience and hope you can address these issues for future guests.

The only thing that was good about the hotel was the price.

Almost every floor of the hotel had some renovations going on. Icea machine wasn't working on the floor where my room was. The elevator wasn't working, which made transferring of bags difficult to and fro. The staff wasn't really welcoming and treated as if they are doing a favour .

Location was great. Having a kitchen was nice.

On our first night there a friend staying in a different room, had his truck stolen. Called for coffee and supplies at 9:33 in the morning. When we had gone out at 1 PM we still had not received the supplies. Had to hold the elevator for a housekeeper who was on a personal phone call and struggling to get her vacuum cleaner out of the elevator. Came back to our room at around 7:47 PM to find our door propped open with a coat hanger. So housekeeping went home around 4 and the door was open all afternoon. When I called the desk I was told they would let the manager know. I received no call or compensation. Very unsecure.

I was not aware that the facility was under construction But thing were fine

Room wasn’t clean, there were gray hair on the carpet, which appeared like dog hair. One of the rooms had very damp/wet smell to it. And reception was able to accommodate us in a different room.

Beds were ok,

Did not know hotel was being renovated, hot tub not open, ice machine not working, Windows did not feel secure. Bathrooms too small and the room very dark and not overly clean. Not what I was expecting for a Sandman hotel.

We got upgraded from the worse room (299) to the penthouse..Thanks to LANIE…great customer service.

No one should be put in that room…I mean NO ONE.😆
