Amigo Rental Isla Mujeres

A REAL HORROR We thought we had the wrong address at first. The exterior is flaking and there was loud construction the first day. Interior clean but really used and rundown - not even close to three stars or even two star establishment. WiFi stopped working, then no more hot water - had to wait to get that fixed. Bathroom was scary - broken tile, stains in floor and walls. The interior smelled like mildew. No paper goods provided - not even a paper towel or extra napkins. We had to ask for extra toilet paper. And no real knives to use to cook with - just a dull machete. The keypad lock did not work at all. And then midweek the key broke and we lost a day waiting for repair and also our peace of mind (because we were forced to sleep in an unlocked apartment in Mexico as landlord had no solutions for us). The website photos were probably taken years ago when place was new - it’s not like that now sadly… would not pay any money to ever go there again!

We loved our stay here. The apartment is exactly as pictured except the outside could use a coat of paint and there is no hammock which made me sad. Nice welcome basket, door code perfect. Like any beach rental, thongs wear fast, but neat and clean. Beds ok, shower great. View SPECTACULAR. Unfortunately, on a big road and loud!! Settles down before late, but daytime and early evening loud. Great staff at Amigo- super friendly. Cute neighborhood with some great food within walking distance. Quick walk to the little pocket beach in the pictures.

No beach acces, no pool, and far from everything, apartment is so nice and comfortable

La vue est à couper le souffle! Nous avons adoré notre séjour à cet endroit de rêve! Bel emplacement bord de mer, propreté impeccable, cadeau de bienvenue, décoré de bon goût, typique endroit insulaire, nous retournerons sans aucunes hésitation. A voir absolument si vous recherchez tranquilité et vue sur la mer, et si vous possédez une voiture car juste un peu éloigné des plages de la Playa Norte. Par contre, pleins de commodités et restos aux alentours.

Dirty! Mold in the refrigerator water dispenser. Fleas in the 2nd bedroom beds. Throw up on the bed rails/base in the master bedroom. Sugar ants in the master bedroom all over the side table. Sugar ants all over the kitchen. Stocked with 2 rolls of toilet paper for 5 people for 9 days. Landscaping needs bushes trimmed so you can walk on the sidewalk to get to the door. LOUD traffic all day and night long. Rent elsewhere- NOT worth the money.

It was very clean and bright. The beds were very comfortable. Convenient for parking our golf cart and easy to get north and south on the island. What we didn’t like was we were only left with half a bottle of water and with 5 women drinking coffee and yes we should have had at least one full bottle. Also, there was only one roll of toilet paper. Remember, 5 women. There were only 4 bath towels. One had to use a beach towel that was provided. The welcome basket was nice. Maybe some mosquito spray? It was difficult to find and and communicate with the owner. If we hadn’t had a great taxi driver who called the number I don’t think we would have ever found it. All in all, we loved the place and will book again. Muchas gracias.

El departamento está tal y como se ve en las fotos, muy limpio, una vista hermosa y está muy cerca de tiendas y lugares para comer. Además nos recibieron con un lindo detalle.

My family and I had a great time staying at this beautiful apartment we enjoyed listening to the waves crash in. The traffic on the street was a little noisy but it did not impact our stay. It was nice to have a washer & dryer, the A/C kept us very cool!
