Leisure facilities were a little grubby

Maybe the jacuzzi needs a bit of cleaning and upgrading a bit and the fridge in my room it was making my drink cold I don’t know what was the problem

We were blown away by our room, it was great, a lovely size and super clean clean. The bed was a great size and the TV was at the perfect height, most hotels have it way too high. All of the staff were super friendly and warm and were quick to help us when our key cards stopped working. It was also great to arrive to find we had been supplied with two free drink tokens and a 15% off on food and drink in a single transaction and complimentary water. The location was perfect, close to everything but far enough out the way to keep it peaceful. Everything we did was in good walking distance, like the tutor house museum, the 1865 venue and the shopping centre, Westquay with plenty of dinning places to choose from.

We mainly booked the hotel for the pool, we were disappointed to find that the pool was down a spiral staircase surrounded by glass, over looking the bar i.e. everyone in the bar can see you walk down to the pool and back out again to the sauna/steam room/changing rooms. The pool wasn't very big, which is perfect for me, not being the most confident swimmer but it was like a green house, it was so hot and not very well maintained either and there was no toilet close by (have to go back upstairs). There was nowhere to get a sip of water, especially as everywhere was so hot, the pool and changing rooms alike. We were also very disappointed with the bathroom, this had clearly not been maintained in the same way the room had been. It was clear that certain areas were just not cleaned, like the secondary shower head and the grout between the tiles. If this had been wiped down after every visitor, this would look barely used, instead, it looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. The layout of the bathroom was odd and meant there was a tiny bathtub that the shower was over, meaning not much space to maneuver between the secondary shower head and the shower curtain.

Hotel was sufficient. The guy who checked us in was quite rude, I told him that I'd booked 2 rooms for 4 people and he didn't even check before saying that I hadn't. Didn't realise we had to pay for parking either

Can be quite loud in the evenings and the balcony could do with a tidy up
