Kings Inn San Diego

Friends of mine and I stayed 2 nights, and booked for price and reviews. Upon check in we were greatly by friendly staff and got to our room and were immediately impressed by how cute it was and it had all we needed: free wifi, fridge, and luggage stand. The hot tub was great and we met some other travelers. Everyone was super friendly! It was also easy drive to La Jolla, Mission Beach, Downtown, and the Airport. Security is present and walks around, and that made us feel safe. There was some commotion late in the night with one of the guests the other night and the security stepped in. Not sure what happened but we are thankful for the security guard.

I really appreciate how clean they keep the rooms and outdoor areas. The bed was comfortable and the room had a nice sized refrigerator. There is a microwave, ice machine and a nice outdoor seating area by the pool. A great place to stay and definitely a great value. Oh and The Waffle Spot was yummy.

I was very impressed with the rooms at the Kings Inn. It had a retro chic vibe. My room unlike most of the other rooms did not have a front window which I appreciated. Instead I had a pretty view of the flora under the highway. The room was a good size and it was very clean. The on-site restaurant is great. However no matter how great the motel is it is still a motel so noise is a factor. Since the door of the room faces outside you will hear people calling out or pulling their luggage at all hours especially early in the morning. You will not miss the sound when someone locks their car. The guests next to me left their tv on all night so I heard a constant vibration while trying to sleep, in addition the bed is very firm. Unfortunately I am a light sleeper so I awoke unrested. If you are not a light sleeper I fully recommend this property. I booked via their website and the room was a great price.

We always have a fun time in San Diego and we stay at Kings Inn. it's convenient with the restaurant on site. We feel safe and the staff is welcoming . The pool is family friendly

Very nice and clean, very friendly staff and cleaning crew. Okay location, not very walkable to the rest of SD. Otherwise great time and great value!

Kitschy and cute! Clean and comfortable. Very welcoming staff and easy to find. Loved the two eateries on site as well.

My wife and I are visiting San Diego and SoCal for three week and came across this Retro Style old school Motel on the internet and thought it would be fun to try out instead of our usual boutique hotels we normally stay. We were so pleasantly surprised that we fell in love with this Motel. The Entire facility parking lot, lobby, room, fitness area, pool area, laundry room and restaurants are literally spotless and like sterile clean! The entire staff from front desk “Veronica” and so sorry we didn’t get everyone’s name also the cleaning staff “Rosalina” again didn’t’ get everyones name but Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, I mean everyone we talked to across the board were absolutely all smiles, friendly and extremely helpful! Our room was very comfortable, literally we can’t say enough good things about this Motel and its location in hotel circle which I think should be called hotel row, hahaha is centrally located to all areas in San Diego and easy to get around. We liked it so much that we are returning at the end of our three week SoCal trip to stay one more night before we catch our flight back Dallas, TX. The hotel brings back old school vibes and memory from when I was a kid as I grew up in OC, also love the old school black & white photos in the gym of Jack LaLanne, I remember as a little kid my dad joining his gym and us watching his workouts on TV, great memory. Thank you for also displaying the Armed Forces Flags in front of your Hotel and taking care of us who served. Semper Fi, the Marine from Texas!

Excellently maintained place with almost all the important spots are just around the corner.

My new 'Go To' for San Diego! Excellent stay with my 6 year old. Great pool. Friendly staff. Relaxing place! We also loved the Waffle Spot.

The rooms are fine, but the staff is abysmal. The man in the front desk was rude to my aging mother. Not a place for multigenerational families.
