"Avoid..."

2.0

Noisy, dirty, with disgusting food. Do not stay at this place unless you really have no choice. The staff at the hotel behave as if they could not care less about the guests. Breakfasts are the same every day with very, very limited choice of poor quality food. The beds are rather uncomfortable and towels which used to be white were grey. Avoid...

"Pleasant hotel"

6.0

We stopped here by chance on a drive along the coast. Hotel is a bit dated but generally pretty OK. Staff didn't speak much English and were not hugely friendly. The patio at the front is pleasant and we had a couple of drinks out here in the evening. Within walking distance to everything you'd want to see. Swimming pool area looked nice. Bit overpriced at 100euro for a double but think Sanremo is generally pretty pricey. All in all no major complaints.

"Worst Italian food we have ever had in our 5 holidays in Italy, 3* Hotel should be downgrade to 2*"

4.0

We have been to various parts of Italy on 5 occasions and have loved the food and wines. We stayed at the Eden Hotel from the 9/6 to 23/6 this year. Our room was very pleasant on the 4th floor with a sea view. The food was terrible both in presentation and quality. There was no written menu, just very poor verbal translation in English. Spaghetti 3 nights on the trot. The veg with meat/fish was only sliced tinned carrots or green beans. We only had potatoes twice. The sweets were either chocolate cake or ice cream, one night one ring of pineapple on a plate!!! I am no Chef but we eat well in our own country and to suffer food like this night after night was abyssmal. The breakfast consisted of stale bread rolls from the evening before, cheese spread, pate & jam.One cereal. TO ALL POTENTIAL CLIENTS :- I WOULD NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN,EVEN IF IT WAS FREE. There was a huge Health & Safety issue as well. The stair carpet was minus a number of stair rods, leaving the carpet loose on many treads(very dangerous) I mentioned this to the reception staff, but to no avail. IF THIS HAD BEEN OUR FIRST HOLIDAY TO ITALY IT WOULD HAVE BEEN OUR LAST.

"Noisey but close to beach"

6.0

The hotel has a nice patio area including swimming pool, a decent breakfast, plus there's an underground parking area; and the staff were generally friendly and helpful I had a sea view from the room, which was spoilt by the constant noise from the main road (some 200 meters away) which ran through the town; and didn't seem to lessen until gone midnight. The room was adequate, but seeing green electrical cable hanging down from behind the sink light in the bathroom was a bit of a concern!

"Hidden places of hotel Eden from SanRemo"

4.0

Well,at the first sight, the place where hotel is build is nice,it is 200 meters away from beach,it has it's own swimming pool.Exterior of hotel is lovely, there is nice sculpture in the backyard. When you enter the hotel ,you can see nice hallway with red carpet. On scale from 1 to 10,their food is 4,their room service is 4 too,so it is not worth it's price.Rooms are not that bad,on the top floor they are good, because they are built recently.I was on excursion with my school, and we had interesting time in this hotel because we discovered something unusuall for hotels.Firstly we discovered the door that leads to basement, that door is across room 103.We entered basement,it was dark so we turned up the light, and you had 3 passages, one in each direction. We took the forward one and we found something very interesting(see pictures Hotel 1 to Hotel 4).We were astonished of our discovery, but we pressed on and we found the door.We opened the door and there was a shallow hallway.Since we were so curious,we went through that hallway, and when we came to the end of it there was a baby angel fountain(Hotel 8).We just ran out of there full of impressions.During that night we discovered another door that leeds to another hallway, and we pictured a text that was written on the wall(Hotel 9).We were not sure what it meant because letters are worn.I think that it has been taken from Gospel.Anyway we had fun time doing that stuff, and that place has left a great impression on us.

"Lovely architecture, poor service"

6.0

It adds up well to the classy Italian style, but it lacks of cleanliness and perfectionism - not worthy of the three stars nor of the price. The rooms are not that bad, but the location is perfect. Not a bad swimming pool also. The staff is not friendly at all and their language skills are poor. It is close to the beach and it has a lovely view, especially on the 4th floor. Their restaurant is not good but it is perfect for a vacation when you don't pretty much care for the services the hotel offers, when you just want to have fun and be close to the beach!

"Old, dirty, poor service"

2.0

We recently stayed at this over-priced, old and very underwhelming hotel. The staff were not very friendly, and as much as we tried, we did not get a smile out of the manager once. The rooms were large, but old and quite dirty. We could feel the springs of the mattress, the shower door was falling off it's hinges and the floor was dirty/dusty throughout. The included breakfast consisted of cornflakes as the only cereal, warm yoghurt and only croissants for something warm. When we ordered wine from the bar to drink in our room while getting ready for the night out, we were provided with an unchilled bottle, and when we asked for some bread, it was extremely stale. For the mid-range price, I definitely do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Very Good hotel"

8.0

Very good price-quality ratio. The hotel is old but clean and comfortable at high levels. I visited him and his group and all were satisfied. Any lack forget to swim in the hotel pool. Come to Italy-Come to San Remo-Come to the Hotel Eden!!!

"Not for me"

4.0

This hotel has four floors of accomodation, the 4th floor being the only one that appears to be up to a 3-star rating. We stayed in a room on the the third floor. Noisy, no air conditioning, 70s style furniture and broken bed mattresses. However, the room was clean and the hotel about a 15min walk to San Remo proper. This hotel would struggle to be a 2-star at best !

"A favourite friendly old place."

8.0

I would like to praise the Eden not for being top of the range but for being excellent for me. I am a single woman of 61 who frequently breaks the journey there en route from my home in France to my former home in central Italy. The last dinner service is 8pm but when I rolled in exhausted off the motorway at midnight, I found there is always someone on duty at night. A big plus for personal security and just feeling welcome. There is parking right in front of the door but also a secure underground car park. Another BIG plus for me, since my car is usually laden with baggage and is a vulnerable soft top which I never leave in the open at night. The swimming pool is in a lovely garden and delightful to sit by but the sea is only a few minutes away on foot and visible from many rooms. You pay on leaving and if you are a few minutes late back for the 12.00 check-out because you were entranced by the local shops and cafés, there is no fuss made or extra fee added. The staff are always friendly and helpful and will park for you or give indications and maps to local attractions without looking bored. Prices are very reasonable even for a single occupant at high season and for the car traveller preparing a picnic, a Coop supermarket is minutes away and open Sunday morning. All in all, a hotel I love for being welcoming, safe and very convenient and for me the slightly old-fashioned atmosphere is a plus. I shall be booking again in 12 days time making my usual journey break. A. Sheard, France.
