Maison de Terre

The hosts are amazing! Very friendly and caring. Lovely home, built by the hosts. Very delicious breakfast! Nice, secluded, off the beaten path, place to relax!

An amazing B&B. Terrie made an incredible breakfast for us each of our 3 day stay. The crepes were particularly delicious. The room was very comfortable. Would definitely go back

People were nice. We killed 2 wasps within our first hour. The drain in the shower was not clean. Dogs were loud three different times but fortunately were quiet when it was time to sleep. Great table to play dominoes. Comfortable mattress. Lots of potential, but a little disappointing.

We put in Hitchkiss, CO when looking for a place to stay. This property was available, so booked it. Then confirmation with address came in and it turns out it was about 25 miles out of Hotchkiss. It was a charming place so we stayed. The owners were very pleasant and breakfast was quite special.

Terry and Marty are such friendly hosts! My husband and I are from San Francisco, and we found out that Terry and Marty created Maison de Terre after moving to Colorado from San Francisco. What they created is amazing. There is so much character in the design of their place. Our concerns were that there were a few bigger bugs we had to take care of and that some aspects of the place may be harder to clean thoroughly. Ultimately we enjoyed our stay, and my husband slept so soundly that he was out for 10 hours. The best part was chatting with Terry and Marty over a homemade breakfast and bonding with their sweet dogs. They also sell hot chocolate, which we gladly bought and are excited to use this fall and winter.

Great place to visit. Very hospitable guests, who are both aertists, so the place is not only beautiful, but very welcoming with its vibe. You just feel good in this house and your own bedroom. The area has some nice scenery and places to visit, and even a few wineries to go tasting. The breakfasts prepared from scratch by Terry are gourmet quality and she can do gluten free as well. Several peaceful dogs round out the family but give you space. We would go back to the area just to stay there again!!!

This is a lovely property in a breathtaking environment. The host is gracious and an excellent cook! We felt welcomed and comfortable during our brief stay. There was one small window which had no glass or screen and allowed bugs free access to the room.

We loved our stay here! The breakfasts are absolutely incredible and they were amazing about accommodating food allergies.

If you are lucky enough to be able to stay at this property, you will find Terry and Marty to be the nicest hosts. You will also find the nicest, beautiful, unique accommodations, and the best American breakfast ever! We will definitely go back.
