Shady Lady Bed and Breakfast

We love staying at this wonderful property. We were recently welcomed on a scorching hot day by peacocks and a friendly goat! Our dog loved the environment. If you're a birdwatcher, rent the cabin. Lots of nighthawk action over the pool at dusk. Lots of cool bats too. Other wildlife: ravens, coyotes, western cottontails, collared lizard, and numerous desert songbirds in the sage. Go outside at night at see the stunning display of the Milky Way. Some of the best stargazing in Death Valley. Area 51 is just over the mountain. Delcious breakfast and such endearing hosts. Thanks to Jennifer and Angela for a memorable stay. I'll be back, next time in winter.

Best stay ever! Jennifer, Nigel and Paul are awesome! Sitting at the patio in the middle of the desert have an ice cold beer and a barbecue with them is simply great! Hope we‘ll be back soon.

An absolutely amazing place. It’s quirky, it’s quiet and it’s just a magical place. The owners were so incredibly friendly and welcoming. Paul you are without a doubt the nicest person I met on my trip. If you like stargazing this is a bortle 1 sky zone and you have a whole desert to wonder into. The peacocks and wildlife added to its charm. I’d 100% stay here again.

Nothing at all it was perfect.

It was very interesting. We were immediately greeted by the owners and the fellow travellers, who were all hanging out, outside.

Be aware - this used to be a brothel. It isn't anymore. The people who run it now are very nice. They have peacocks, cats, and dogs. The dogs are very friendly. This more like an Inn. It has it's own kitchen. The room was very clean. It was a good place to stay.

Outstanding experience - the house has a lot of interesting history which made the stay very special. The cabin is a great place to enjoy the desert and have some privacy. Other rooms are in a shared space (the main house). The folks running the B&B are great and make really good breakfast!

The rooms in the shared house and the house are also shared with a cat and dog so for people with allergies this could be an issue.

The venue was unique & having beautiful peacocks around was a plus. The staff was beyond good & breakfast was plentiful & very good. Applauds to Jennifer, Nigel & especially Paul. They made the stay special

We had an interesting and exciting stay at the Shady Lady. The hosts were very flexible and kind, they allowed us to adjust breakfast times so we could enjoy the national park early in the morning before the heat. We loved the many forms of animal life we encountered on the gorgeous property. We came away with many pictures of peacocks and bunnies.

It was an interesting experience to stay in the Mojave Desert.

I had a wonderful stay at the property. Jen, Nigel & Paul we're great. It was nice to hang out and just talk to the owners. The room was comfortable, happy it has its own bathroom. The peacocks are beautiful, the pool needs a little love, other than that, i would like to stay and visit again.
