Everything was great until the open air private onsen was in use and then a visitor or some kid dropped by infront of our onsen in the morning. Was not impressed at all, in fact our privacy was invaded by some bystanders. Should consider isolating the area if the onsen are facing the lake. Besides this, everything else was great experience.

"gorgeous private onsen views.."

8.0

The hotel only had twin beds and double equates to having staff pushing them together. I found the bed too hard. No feather soft topping like most luxury hotels. Buffet dinner had a wide selection but the main course selection yakiniku beef slices were not of a good cut. Plus they were thick and fat which made it quite difficult to bite. Overall a pleasant stay with a lovely view of lake toya that is unbeatable from our personal onsen.

I booked a half board package. Food Dinner is on buffet style and is served together with guests of another hotel (there is a connected bridge to an older family style hotel under the same group next the hotel entrance) - which can be very packed during weekends. Quality is ok but if you are looking for a fine dining experience, this may not be the one. Breakfast is also on buffet style and shared with guests of another hotel. Peak hour is 8am and we had to wait and get seated. Room The hotel room is new. Nice coffee blend in beans and you can find sharing plates and cutlery at bar - which is very thoughtful. Yet there was a towel left on the sink when we checked in the room. The private onsen bath is not easy to use even with instructions and the onsen water will get cool down quickly. Staff Friendly and very helpful front desk. Restaurant staff are mostly Chinese.

"Great hotel in the area!"

10.0

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! The design is very modern, yet there are traditional Japanese aspects incorporated as well. Every room has a view of Lake Toya and you can also soak in the onsen while you look over the stunning view. The lounge area are filled with chairs over looking Lake Toya and the lounge also offer some free drinks and snacks during check in for all guests. The price tag is well worth for what's offered in the hotel. A couple of things which I think the hotel can improve on is the finer details found in other hotels/onsen. There was no tea prepared for us upon arrival to our room, though the lady that bought us to our room was pretty courteous while showing us the features of the room. Also, there is no luggage rack in the room, so we had to leave our luggage and bags on the floor or the couch which is not sanitary. They also have a public onsen on the 8th floor of the hotel as well as a tiny gym. Depending on your room package, your meals could either be inside the hotel restaurant or be a buffet at a restaurant at their parent hotel next to them, which is a short three minute walk over. There are four types of rooms at the hotel. First, there is the universal room which there is only one on each floor. There's also the corner rooms on both ends of a floor and the garden terrace room which is found only on the first floor. The last time is the terrace rooms which fill the rest of the hotel out.
