Les Bruyères

We stayed here one night as we were travelling to Spain and had a fantastic experience. Due to massive delays on the Dover/Calais ferry, we were unable to arrive on the day we had planned and when we contacted the property, they were very accommodating and allowed us to move the booking by a day at short notice. On arrival, we met the friendly owner Ludovic and his daughter. The property is beautifully located next to a river and was spotlessly clean. The decoration is beautiful and we stayed in the very large Oslo room. There is a shared kitchen/dining room and in the morning a delicious breakfast had been set for us. There were games in the house which my children loved. In the morning we went for a walk through the beautiful village and enjoyed fantastic views of the castle, church and river. We were sorry we only stayed one night and would love to return.

After travelling for 10 hours and sleeping in the car the previous night what an absolute delight to come across this beautiful guest house the comfort & decor top class it was certainly the most fantastic welcome on our 1st evening in our new adventure living in France!!!!! Thankyou

La chambre est très confortable, le petit déjeuner copieux et en plus, j'ai eu la possibilité de changer la batterie de ma voiture hybride.

Small guest house. Check in straight forward and good communication by host (in French but used translate). Beautiful quirky old converted barn in quiet location. Lovely french continental breakfast. Restaurant for dinner within walking distance. Very clean and well presented. Only down side for us (as an average sized couple) was the very small double bed which after being used to a king size bed was a bit cramped but others may find it ok. We travelled with our dog and paid additional €10 for her which is acceptable.

This was my second stay at this beautiful and well appointed location. The staff are helpful, friendly and attentive. The breakfast is delicious and the surroundings are beautiful. Highly recommended.

I arrived on time having a reservation to stay at this hotel. It was all locked up and deserted when I arrived. I waited one hour but no one came so I took photographic evidence to suport my situation and drove 70 kms back to Poitiers where I was able to get an hotel room for the night. This pathetic excuse for a hotel should be removed from Expedia.

Stop over on way south. Great place in brilliant village. Hostess could not have been more helpful. Short walk to village centre where it was all happening with live music and 2 restaurants seving excellent fare. Wonderful Chateau to visit, all with walking distance.
