--- ## Unacceptable Stay at China Creek Cottages Our recent experience at China Creek Cottages in Willow Creek, California, was highly unsatisfactory. Upon arrival, the cabin's appearance was unremarkable. Shortly thereafter, approximately **100 hornets swarmed us** directly outside the cabin, originating from a visible nest attached to the structure. We sustained multiple stings. The on-site office was closed. We contacted the hosts via phone, who **declined a refund** and attributed the incident to being "out in nature." Maintenance arrived 45 minutes later, addressed the hornet nest. Given the circumstances, we immediately departed the property. The owner is currently pursuing charges for the stay. The lack of immediate resolution, the hosts' response, and the condition of the property's surroundings made for an unacceptable experience. ---

The property was ideal, as pictured and a great place to stay in an area with limited places to stay.

Beautiful setting, very scenic. Shops and Thai restaurant in Willow Creek, a short drive away. Nice walk in shower. Young Elk or deer came visiting.

Bit small and tired. Bed far too soft for us.

The separation of the cottages and how quiet it was. There was good tv channels. Full kitchen with toaster and coffee maker and coffee. Full size refrigerator too. Microwave included. Patio area to enjoy in the backyard. Best to prepare your own food because there’s limited dining options in Willow creek.

I enjoy watching tv. The tv was very small with poor sound. The internet was not the best.

The cottages were all neatly spaced and maintained from each other we could park our truck right by the cottage, which was perfect. It was super quiet area plus the room itself. The studio was clearly an old cottage, but had been very well remodeled loved the bathroom that had two podium sinks, loved that the windows facing the other cabin were frosted so that you could open the blinds, but nobody could see in. Lots of very wonderful, thoughtful details we would definitely come back here again

Super minor note for managers - instructions on how to run the TV would have been helpful but not a fatal flaw in this lovely property

Beautiful property. It was my second time staying there. Very peaceful and quiet, close to town. The room has so many added details. Cute little table to sit at for two. The chairs to watch tv are very comfy. Very charming and shower was great

Second time I have stayed there. First, time they said u couldn’t get to the trail and waterfall because of a storm. This time they said it was open but it’s still blocked by trees and u can’t get through. Very disappointing. Big reason I booked there. Also, it says air conditioning BUT it’s a window air conditioner. It was high nineties and it was extremely hot. During cooler times it’s not bad but summer is a different story

Bathroom and dirty. Sheets low quality and no extra blanket. No amenities outside like an outdoor game etc. No parking lines resulted in someone parking in front on our porch, making it difficult to take in luggage. No paper towels.

Bed was comfy and someone did answer the phone about late arrival.

Walked in to a very delightful, clean room with soothing music playing on the satellite TV. Lovely room. Super comfy bed & bedding.

Office was not open. Communication was mostly by phone and voicemail.
