"Self catering B&B?"

6.0

We stayed for 1 night about 3 weeks ago, during a road trip of the Deep South, having booked based on the recommendations of previous reviewers. It is certainly quirky, but why does quirky have to come with a layer of dust? The bedside lamps were beautiful, but covered in dust as were the mouldings of all of the ill fitting doors. Our expectations of a B&B are that the proprietor or a member of staff should be present for breakfast, with coffee already made in the pot, ready to pour, and to attend to the guests needs. We can cope with toasting our own bagels etc, but having to make a pot of coffee and take our crockery into the kitchen and load it into the dishwasher, is really a step too far. Had we have wanted self catering, we would have booked it. In fact, we did not see the proprietor at all in the morning, even though we did not depart until after 10.30am.

"Great place"

Really lovely, friendly owner. Walking distance to the Saenger Theatre where I saw a concert in the evening. Overall I was really happy to stay there and would stay again if I come back to Mobile. Oh, and Fuzzy Buddy is so adorable, pity I can’t take him home with me!

Der Antebellum Stil . Aber es gab kein warmes Wasser. Im Waschbecken lief das Wasser sehr sehr schlecht ab. Das Abschließen der Zimmer Tür war schwierig, wir mussten das Bad und WC

This house has so much character. If you love old houses, you will love it. I stayed in the Canela room (Forgive me if I am getting the name wrong, it is the room with the navy blue bedspread). It had wifi and cable. I loved the bathroom with the lavender walls and a clawfoot tub. The neighborhood has many beautiful houses and is also close to Dauphin St where the restaurants and stores are. The owners, Ms Karen and Fuzzy the Cat are amazing. So nice. In the morning I sat on the porch drinking coffee and listening to the birds sing. It was so relaxing. I would 100% stay here again! I highly recommend it.

"A haven B&B on a business trip"

10.0

Positively a delight- we booked on short notice due to a volatile schedule of moving, driving and coordinating schedules. The Mardi Gras House was welcoming, clean, and a haven in a stressful day. Mr. Fuzz E. Buddy, the B&B's resident cat, greeted us on arrival and provided a single meow wakeup call in the morning (so cute!) We both ended up wishing we could stay a week instead of a single night. The self-serve breakfast had great choices, fresh pastries, fruit, everything; the rooms were clean, spacious, and had all the warmth of a historic building, the proprietor knows and can suggest great options for food and entertainment around town.
