Bigger room the second time. The door out to the verandah was great.

The house keeping needs to be reviewed. Was not the best. The first room we had was not cleaned and a shoe box size. They changed to another room, much larger however, the cleanliness could have been a lot better. Shower floor was not completely clean, toilet bowl had not been brushed below the water line,and the duchess mirror was smudged. The curtains did not cover the windows.

Shared womens bathroom was closed therefore had to use the male bathroom, bathroom facilities were old and not clean. The bedroom was tiny, there was a TV remote but no TV.

Central location, old world charm, wide balcony, restaurant & bar.

The room was tiny, bathroom rather old. No elec jug in room. Fridge was frosted up.

No breakfast but knew that in advance. Location close to station which was our point of arrival/departure so that was fine.

Did not have unrealistically high expectations as this was an old pub, but accommodation is way under par for the price range. Terrible beds, overhead fan noisy and could not be switched off, no coat hangers, no water or glasses in room, a piece of unpainted plywood nailed over a split in one wall, grubby carpet, drawer in wardrobe broken and hanging loose, had to request extra pillows, door to room difficult to open and close, and the noise from bar/bands/bad karaoke excruciatingly loud. Only alerted that noise “might” be a problem when checking in. Obviously it was a Friday/Saturday night and we expected noise but did not realise the bars stayed open till 4am.
