USIt’s a favorite stop of ours. Lovely with a great earth friendly concept. Wish they had lotion with the toiletries.
USThis was the fifth time we stayed at this hotel. We like the scruffy old town of Dunsmuir, the quiet well-decorated hotel.
It gives me no pleasure to write this, but it will be our last stay at this hotel that we have grown to love. It is an expensive stay, but we always considered it worthwhile, even with a $50 pet fee and a $250+ plus room. The last two times we've stayed, however, we stayed in Room 7, which works well for us since it is on the ground floor, and has an outside patio area, which is helpful with the dog. The problem is that the water in the shower won't get hot. You have to turn it on and wait more than five minutes before it reaches about 80 degrees, which is fine in a swimming pool, but not a shower. After the first time, I texted staff about this (it's an unstaffed hotel, so we never see anyone) and they said they didn't know and would look into it. On this stay in early January 2025, the same thing happened. I was so disappointed. When you've been traveling all day and it's cold out, a hot shower just feels wonderful. When I wrote about it to staff again, I was told a housekeeper told them it seemed to be fine, and no one else had complained, and so ... not a problem. When there is no staff, and the only way to complain is to figure out a phone number to text to, most people won't take the time. The lack of concern, especially for someone on a fifth visit, is very disappointing.
USThis is a beautiful hotel right in the middle of town.
Perfect place to stay on road trip from Bay Area to Seattle. Room was great, wonderfully appointed, and loved the French Press for morning coffee. Will definitely come back!
USUSWe planned our stay from 22nd to 26th Dec. Through out our stay the front desk was closed. The only way to communicate to hotel stuff is by text(no call). We went with a toddler and it was scary for us. I never stayed in hotel like this. The room service was okay but absence was front desk was little scary for a family with toddler.
USThe beds were exceptionally comfortable! Had a really good night's sleep. The staff was very responsive to our needs.
The TV didn't work properly at the beginning of the night but we got it fixed eventually.
