Black Elephant Hostel

Really creative atmosphere, at least in the lobby and hallways

My room was extremely small, but that was the most inexpensive one, so I expected that.

The location and the amenities offered by the hostel. I think what I liked most was the cleanliness of the hostel and how I felt taken care of by the staff there.

Nothing! Everything was amazing about the place.

Proximity to the Coop and LB kitchen. Neighborhood. And always enjoy the decor and friendly staff, when I see them.

There was a party that came in around 2:30a and they were extremely loud in the hallways. They proceeded down to the lobby and hung out there-whooping and having a great time, which I don’t begrudge them-for 2 more hours! I called the BEH phone number and spoke with someone who assured me he would check out the situation promptly. Not sure that that ever happened. Nothing changed, until they all went to bed. I have stayed at BEH many times and this has never happened, but I do think it’s worth mentioning. Needless to say, little sleep was had that morning.

The vibe and the coziness! They make hosteling a really unique and memorable experience!

Nothing really, only during the reservation process to ask for a lower or upper bunk, as a older traveller it was somewhat of a challenge getting into the top bunk, just will remember to request a lower bunk for the next time, otherwise for what would be a “no frills” stay at a hostel, it was one of the best stays I’ve ever had at a property! Service, value, and the stay was comfortable and enjoyable

Great location. Great shared space. love that theres a guitar under the couch though I didn't have time to play!
