Arenas Beach Hotel

Only stayed two nights. The room was clean and quiet. Ac worked well. Bed was a bit hard but fine. Staff were friendly. Spent the day on the beach which was nice -not too busy. Restaurant was ok. They charge extra for two people which is a bit weird. I was travelling solo but booked the room for two since it’s usually the same price. Didn’t notice until check out that they had charged me extra for another person. They did take the charge off when I pointed out I was alone.

I stayed at the cottage room and the area outside smelled really bad like black water, we couldn’t get to enjoy the outside of the porch, the room were very outdated and very small, the service were very slow.

Great location , friendly staff , clean property, the only thing is the food wasn’t great at the restaurant.

Very poor customer service at the restaurant. When seated at the table and given drinks, staff took 15 minutes to come back to get our order. The restaurant was not packed and we were one of the three parties at the restaurant but yet felt ignored by the staff. Of the staff Daisy was one of few that actually helped us.

For the price of the hotel, i was expecting more comfort. The little cabin is small the furniture was outdated and missing a night table, the dresser has had his usefulness, over all i think the whole room needs improvements. The service is the only good thing about the hotel, i needed extra pillows and were given to me right away.

The view

I recognize that the Corn Islands are not the place for luxury, but this place is way overpriced for what it is. The rooms are clean enough (but only on the surface), the mattress on the bed is as hard as a rock, and the prices in the restaurant/bar are ridiculous for Nicaragua. The walls between the rooms are so thin you can hear everything your neighbours say. The breakfast in the morning was pretty good, and the beach itself is quite nice. Service is abysmal - when I asked about going to Little Corn, the receptionist just pointed at the sign for the public pangas. Paying US$450 for 3 nights here is a huge stretch for what you get.

Will be good that for breakfast they should offer cereal, yogurt or fruit
