Baymont by Wyndham Newark at University of Delaware

We found that the facility did not live up to its good rating on booking.com. Upon walking into the lobby, it smelled like marijuana. The man at the front desk was not friendly. In the elevator, there were signs warning about human trafficking. I think that's a good thing to be communicating, but given the hotel's atmosphere , it made us feel uncomfortable. Our hallway was reminiscent of The Shining, with dim lighting and 1970s colors. The room had small pillows -- more like couch pillows than bed pillows -- and the mattress was stained. Also , my daughter found some short hair (not hers) on her bed near the pillow. We decided we couldn't stay there and left for another hotel. The lesson learned for me is to verify booking.com's ratings.
