My brother, his wife, and myself took a trip to Hurricane, Utah to visit my dad who was celebrating his 90th birthday. We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Hurricane January 3rd thru 7th 2026.
Booking:
We booked this hotel directly from their website. We wanted to book for three nights (arrive Saturday, and leave Tuesday). The calendar on the website was a little bit confusing. We thought the check-out date indicated the last night we were staying. Turns out it means the day of check-out. Soooo..... we were one night short because of that, and had to book a separate reservation for that extra night. Not a deal breaker, but the on-line calendar is a bit confusing.
The location:
The comfort Inn Hurricane Zions Park area is in a nice location, located on the main highway that goes through Hurricane, LaVerkin, and Toquerville. The hotel is located on the south end of Hurricane, at the edge of town. It's about a 10 minute drive from the hotel into downtown Hurricane. The view of the maintains is quite beautiful.
Hotel First Impressions/check-in:
The hotel looks brand new, and it is beautiful! The lobby is spacious, with a nice fireplace and a couple of comfortable seating areas to sit while waiting for friends or family members. We were greeted by Dimple, a delightful lady who checked us in. Brother and his wife got one room, and I booked a separate room for myself. The hotel was immaculately clean! Nice color pallette, gave off a nice, welcoming vibe. And whatever fragrance the housekeeping staff uses in the lobby.... it smelled REALLY GOOD!
There is an area next to the lobby consisting of tables and chairs where you my sit and eat breakfast. Next to this is a large room containing the breakfast buffet.
Breakfast:
The food is..... decent-ish. I wouldn't call it great or superb, but it's decent. It was by no means terrible. They had self-serve waffle machines which worked very well, toast, cereal, sausage links or patties (would switch between the two each day), yummy muffins, coffee, milk, yogurt, and orange juice. And I guess...... those are eggs???? OK.... if you say so..... The eggs weren't terrible, but they weren't great. I would much prefer they were scrambled with cheese. But these "eggs" were, well...... they looked kind of like poached eggs, definitely pre-made/processed. Again, not terrible, but not great either. Overall, breakfast was decent and satisfying.
The room:
The rooms we booked were the King Suite. They consisted of a king-sized bed and a separate seating area which had a nice, comfy sofa and a couple of ottomans. Very cozy. Large, flatscreen TV (some of the channels worked intermittantly, but a decent selection, none-the-less AND.... HBO and MAX included!) Coffee Maker, mini fridge, and coffee machine. What I did not see was an in-room safe, but the room felt very secure none-the-less. I wasn't afraid of anything possibly getting stolen. Bed was on the hard side, but comfortable. Bathroom was large, immaculately clean. Plenty of room for a wheelchair or electric scooter, even though this was not labeled as an "accessible" room. Room was very quiet.
The pool and spa area:
The hours for the pool and spa were a bit quirky; open from I believe 8am until 10pm. Wish it opened earlier and closed later. (Some hotels have the pool and spa area available 24/7, this place did not). No early morning or midnight swim, which was somewhat disappointing, but not a deal breaker. The spa was warm and felt wonderful. The pool is a decent size, but was ICE COLD!!!
Final thoughts: This is probably the nicest, or one of the nicest hotels in Hurricane. We enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderful, and we would book this hotel again in a heartbeat if we make another trip down this way.
