Dajan Buyan Homestay

Definitely the best value stay in the area. The rooms were comfortable, affordable, well-located, clean, and private. We were warmly and promptly welcomed and shown to our rooms with big smiles. The blankets were warm enough and the beds quite comfortable.

Unfortunately, one of the hot water boilers did not work. Also, some other guests arrived at night and stayed up all night talking loudly and drinking outside until sunrise which made it very hard to sleep. That is not the fault of the property, of course. Aside from that it was a very good experience.

The room is decent and there was hot water, very much needed in the colder parts of Bali.

There was no WiFi in our room. The router is located in their office across the street and did NOT reach our room. Bummer. The guesthouse is quite far from the main street and restaurants, too far to walk so you will need to take a vehicle or motorbike to go eat out. We arrived at night so we had no idea what the surroundings looked like in daylight. So the next morning I was woken very early by several birds screeching from their cages (Bali starling, junglefowl,...). The owners have so many caged birds and many are endangered, it's unbelievable, they really seem to be no animal lovers. And some of the birds with very loud calls have cages close to the room. If you are a light sleeper you will wake up early here, I guarantee you. If I would have known this in advance I would not stay here. Tourists who come here want to relax and sleep, not be woken up by birds in cages calling at 5 in the morning. Why would you put the cages next to the guest rooms??
