Close to the fairgrounds

Every time I stay we get put on the 2nd floor. The airport is extremely close & you hear the planes more when they change landing patterns usually 12-4 am. I’m wondering if when staying on the first floor you hear them as loud? There were obviously many open rooms on the first floor, not sure why they put us on the second floor?

It was clean, comfortable. Had a microwave and full size refrigerator in the room. Best of all? No carpet. Very comfortable room.
