"Fun in the sun excursion with tweens!"

10.0

We went for lunch and rented a cabana to have a beach day excursion with our tween neices in town for spring break from the tundra. We didn't day pass because I live 20 minutes away and have a pool. LOL!! But would have if I didnt. The service is top-notch. Our server at lunch was super friendly! The dessert was incredible!! Then off to the beach. The guys who set up the cabana and beach chairs were super friendly. Our beach server was great, and there was every time our cups got empty. It was like she had a camera watching. She was that good! Highly recommended spending the $$!!! It's worth every penny!

"Spring break 2026"

10.0

We had an absolutely amazing experience staying at The Don CeSar in St. Pete Beach with our family! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The drinks were fabulous, perfectly crafted and refreshing. The atmosphere was relaxing and not too “spring break”. What truly stood out was the incredible wait staff. Every team member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having a great time. The activities for the kids were great! Our kids were constantly engaged, happy, and excited, which made the whole trip even more enjoyable for us. This was a five-star experience all around, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend for families looking for a fun, relaxing, and memorable getaway!

"Our favorite St. Pete Beach spot"

10.0

We love this place! Have been here a few times now. It’s our favorite winter escape from New England. It’s only our second day but it feels like it just gets better every time we come here. Our room is beautiful! The staff is so friendly. The complimentary Rose upon check-in was a nice touch. Our favorite staff member Kate was quick to have us set up by the pool and make the past two days so relaxing for us. The restaurant recommendation from the bartenders that sent us to Pia’s last night was so appreciated! We loved it! Just everything you could hope for when you arrive for a few days of R&R. - Mike & Jen

"Enjoyed the History"

10.0

We were only at this beachfront hotel for two nights. We like staying in historic hotels and inns, and the "pink palace" Don Cesar had been on our bucket list for a while. It's located on the southern end of the St. Pete beaches, adjacent to residential areas. Although history is the main reason we stayed here, the hotel does have lots of attractive features---two large side-by-side pools, nice shops, nice beach area, and excellent restaurants. Beach umbrellas and towels are included in the room rate. And the lobby and common areas have the Gilded Age aura we came for. Breakfast and lunch was very good. We were disappointed that the hotel's fine dining restaurant (Maritana) was closed on Monday and Tuesday, the two nights we were there. But there are good seafood restaurants nearby, and downtown St. Pete is only a 15 minute drive away. There are MIchelin-recommended restaurants there (one of which--Il Rotorno--we dined at). Our junior king suite was very comfortable---large sitting area, The bathroom was just average size, but with a nice walk-in shower. Elevators can be confusing at first, but you get used to it (you'll see what I mean). Service in all areas was good, and we found the staff here to be surprisingly friendly---not always the case with large convention-oriented hotels. In general, the hotel seems more family-oriented than other such large hotels. You can self-park for a small fee, but valet parking is not that much more expensive, and it's very quick. Of course, the hotel is very pricey, and you could say that all of the positive things noted above are really to be expected. But we've stayed in many luxury hotels, and felt that the Don Cesar was just a more comfortable stay.

"Not a good start either checking in!!"

6.0

I had called a few days ahead, we were coming for our 30th anniversary. They said they give a special gift to us. We got to the hotel at 130 and was checked in and they said just waiting on housekeeping to finish up our room. Ok no problem- we will go have lunch. At 330 we went back, and was told our room was not finished yet, and ofc they reminded us that check in is at 4. Ok went to bar to wait. At 4 went back again to front desk, was told in an abrupt way- did you get a call? I said no- then she said your room is not ready. Did not look up with to see if it was ready, never asked me what’s the name? She just said not ready!!! So at this point I had a business dinner Rez with clients at 6, had to cancel that since we never got our room until after 5. Only after I asked another girl at the desk, to please check with my name if the room is ready- she said she had to move things around- and low and behold she found a room ready for us- when I got into the room, my anniversary card and chocolates were there waiting- kinda funny since she had to move us around to get us into a room. Long story short - front desk forgot to call us and tell us our room was ready- waited around for almost two hours - and ofc no compensation!!! Would I stay again?? Not too sure!! Hotel is lovely but not a good start!

"Nice hotel, some disappointments."

8.0

Check your statement!!!! We had two rooms and both room were charge an extra night in resort fees! Also they didn’t credit my credit card back for the incidental charge (temp hold)they accidentally charged my card the $250 per night incidental fee. Working with my credit card and hotel to resolve. Otherwise it was a nice stay. Rooms were nice, small bathrooms though. The steam room was out of service and the hot tub has so much chlorine it burns your eyes.

"Not worth it"

3.0

The hotel had a nice pool area and beach.

The room was a significant disappointment, especially given the price point. I have rarely seen a space so poorly configured and cramped. Two queen beds were squeezed into a room that could barely accommodate one. To put this into perspective, there was not a single spot on the floor where a standard suitcase could be opened flat. The walkways, if they can even be called that, were reduced to just a few inches at the foot of the beds, leading to the door and bathroom. The bathroom itself felt more like a closet than a functional space. There was virtually nowhere to place towels, not even on the floor without them becoming an obstacle to step over. The entire layout was uncomfortably narrow, and we are not large people. The shower was equally underwhelming: the water never got properly hot, and the pressure was extremely weak. The toiletries felt diluted and of noticeably low quality, which was surprising and disappointing for a hotel in this price range. To make matters worse, the view overlooked a parking lot filled with dumpsters, hardly what one expects when paying $500–$800 per night. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing hotel rooms I’ve experienced in years. The space was so tight that my husband, our children, and I couldn’t enter or exit the room at the same time without bumping into each other. I had expected a far more elevated and thoughtfully designed experience.
