Breakfast was great. Rooms dated. Smelt musty. Didn’t have protectors over the boxspring and mattress l. Guy at the front desk was awesome!

We stayed here when passing thru Virginia to head to South Carolina - This is an older hotel but very clean and good sized room and bed was comfortable, air conditioning set just right. We especially liked the continental breakfast spread set up by Pat and conversation with other friendly staff. Pat has been working here for 30 years and said new owners planning renovations. Parking was convenient next to the hotel with east side door entry. We did not get a chance to explore downtown, but hotel is located across from the performing arts theater - art deco and historic buildings nearby with various shops and some restaurants that we saw as we drove past. Affordable stay and we do recommend.

When we arrived, the lobby was very hot, humid, and smelled badly. We had to come back later to check in and decided not to check in at all due to the interaction with staff and conditions in the lobby.
