Staying there is to experience the rare pleasure of falling back in time into another epoch, unencumbered by the strains of modern life. This is a unique palazzo brimming with soul and lovingly restored by a local family over two decades with a view towards preservation. Everywhere you look you will be rewarded with thoughtful vignettes of artfully curated objects and exquisite, locally-made textiles, all inviting quiet contemplation. The verdant interior courtyard where breakfast is served under the shade of a pomegranate tree is a quiet sanctuary where one could easily while away hours. The rooms are beguilingly, impeccably clean, the hosts are delightful; and you’d do well to heed their restaurant and gelato recommendations. There’s robust wifi in the rooms, but if not for that, you’d not be mistaken for falling under the delusion that you’d entered another era the moment you step through the doors of this enchanting property.

What a gem! We had a wonderful stay in this delightful place. Our room was very large and comfortable with windows over the street and a great large bathroom. Breakfast, prepared by Antonio was superb, far and away the best we had in Puglia. Antonio could not have been more helpful and friendly, making our stay as perfect as possible and with great suggestions both for Lucera and our onward travels.

Very occasionally one stays in a place which combines curtesy, culture and a true sense of hospitality. We were delighted and will return.

A very special place to stay. A genuine historic Palazzo, beautifully furnished, carefully looked after. Great location right in the middle of Lucera, which is a really lovely town. Extremely helpful host. Access to kitchen and lovely places to relax, both indoors and outside. Hope to return.

Lovely room and building, very friendly host and delicious breakfast. Our kids loved walking across the path of the roof from our terrace. The town is beautiful and it was a great find. Grazie Antonio.
