Great room-super service from staff!

Convenient

My husband and I stayed here after spending two wonderful weeks in Montana. Thankfully, it was only one night. Upon arrival at 4:10 PM our room was ready. Luckily we went to check our room prior to getting our luggage. Our room was located on the first floor. Please note there are only two floors. When we arrived at our door and I went to open the door it was already unlocked. We entered the room. The room was clean and there was no one in there. We tried to lock the door and it would not lock from the outside or the inside. Again, grateful that we hadn’t gotten our luggage from the car. We went to the front to tell them the door would not lock. It was now about 4:20 PM and there was an extremely long line. I am also grateful that I did not check in online. When we got to the front and I explained our door would not lock the gentleman replied “ that going to be a problem?” My response was “yes this is a problem. It won’t lock at all”. He attempted to move us, but since we had a river view room, there was no other room available. He proceeded to call maintenance and they did arrive quickly. We ran into the maintenance men at our door and they were totally baffled. They were able to fix the door after about 15 minutes. In my opinion, the door looked warped. It appears that half of the hotel has been updated with new doors. Our room had an old door. Once our door was secured, we proceeded to get our luggage. The room itself was very clean. The king size bed was comfortable. There was a separate shower and separate tub. The bathroom was also very clean. There was an empty refrigerator in our room, which was convenient. Along with a safe. There was a sliding glass door with two chairs to sit to view the river. When we opened the sliding glass door, there was an extremely pungent odor coming from the back. That being said, we were unable to sit outside. Also, the little patio was not private. The next room was visible along with all the other patios along the water. Yes we had a river view, but that view included a homeless tent across the water. Since we were tired from driving all day, we opted to eat at the restaurant on site. I will review the restaurant Finn separately. I would like to point out that this place is in much need of remodeling. Considering the price was over $500 for our room I expected much better service and accommodations. This hotel looks like a former Howard Johnsons. We did not feel safe staying at this hotel. We expected more from a Doubletree. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and I would never stay here again. The only reason I’m giving this hotel 2 stars is because the bedroom and the bathroom were clean.

The room was very nice and spacious. Loved the vaulted ceiling and the private deck with river view. The bathroom was weirdly small and the toilet flush buttons are awful. So difficult to use if you have fingernails (I know that’s weird but it’s true) QR code for services was not functioning including room service menu and could not order room service without calling front desk and then transferring because the buttons on the phone didn’t work.

Great location, excellent restaurant and bar

Rooms are a little funky - you have keep the blinds closed all the time, the shower leaks and there is no bathroom fan. A real door on the bathroom would be an improvement.
