Frederick Street Townhouse

This is a great location if you are attending a private Party in the Button Factory next door.

The lighting was poor. No dressing table. The iron was leaking and the walls looked damp (but maybe intentional).

The location is excellent; a great neighbourhood for eating and drinking, just outside but within easy walk from the centre of the city. The 1000 Trades pub is a great place for craft beer and wine. I arrived quite late in the evening and was introduced to the property by a member of the bar staff who explained that they 'operate more as a town house than a hotel,' meaning that they don't have a manned reception or some hotel amenities, although more than make up for that with comfort, and tasteful decoration. The free breakfast on Saturday morning was very pleasant, as was the sparkling water in the room. Parking on nearby streets is cheap and feels relatively safe. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent.

My room had a wall mounted bedside lamp, seemingly an antique. Unfortunately it had no bulb in it. There was a switch for this light so I was confused by the omission, although I wasn't there for long enough to enquire further.

Very friendly staff and very clean. Super comfy and a great location.
