"Disappointing"

4.0

Not many people there

Location is terrible. Far from any stores/restaurants. Loud construction right outside The person working there said they rent scooters but didn't have any in stock. Said they were 500/day, the best price in town. I walked to the pier where they were 300

"Give it a miss"

5.0

Lots of suggestions of things to do. You could use the kitchen.

Address was incorrect on booking.clm listing so had trouble finding the place. The remote for the air con was kept at the main desk and not in the room as they switch it off during the day which is fine. However, when they keep it on 16 overnight and only provide you with a thin sheet it is not nice to spend the whole night trying to regulate your body temperature. No towels even though advertised on booking.com listing. They charge you 50 PHP to rent one. Again, not advertised and additional fee on booking.com. No showers gel/soap as advertised. Shower was luke warm at best. Shower was dirty. Had to ask the main desk for toilet paper. Curtains were too small for the bed so didn't provide much privacy.Lock to the bedroom door was broken. Breakfast was okay but I am not convinced everything was in date. One staff member was nice to talk to when he wasn't watching loud movies on his laptop. Bring earplugs as it is loud at night with dogs barking and roosters.

"Best dorm bed and hot shower in the Philippines"

10.0

A wonderful hostel with the best dorm bed and best hot shower of my 3 weeks in the Philippines! The free breakfast was amazing and the communal kitchen was huge! Friendly staff and all in all a 10/10 hostel🙏

The construction work going on outside but that's not the fault of the hostel

Kind and friendly staff, happy to answer questions. Decent location for the price, close to motorcycle rentals and 30mins walk from the pier. Nice and quiet

"Old school hostel."

5.0

This is an old school hostel which would be much nicer if they paid a cleaner to come in everyday instead of expecting the day manager to meet and greet and clean at the same time. The bathrooms only get cleaned when they can fit them in, and even then it's only a rinse. The bins inside the bathrooms get emptied when you tell the staff they're full. New (refills) toilet rolls can be requested at reception as needed. The kitchen gets cleaned by Andre at the start of his shift and sometimes just before he knocks off. If Andre isn't rostered on the kitchen doesn't get cleaned at all. Kitchen bins cater for recycling and biodegradability. The kitchen has lots of appliances and is stocked with pots and pans etc. Some dry goods can be purchased from reception. The common areas are spacious. The dormitory has lockers. The hostel is located just a short 7 minute walk from the main road. (Left when exiting the building). You can grab a tricycle or tuk tuk, jeepney or local bus along the main road to take you most places. Php40 to the city bus terminal or the city mall. Turning right when exiting the building takes you towards the local beaches (not surf) and the famous Dalareich Chocolate House (Free entry, free samples). The hostel has a clothes line for those items you hand washed. The shower head's need to be replaced but still trickle out water. Hot water or cool, it's enough. The bed was great, comfy mattress, a power point and light per bunk. Air conditioned, breakfast included (rolled oats or toast). They have lots of coffee but limited black tea. The herbal tea available is ginger. Fresh roasted coffee is available for purchase. Free WiFi. Scooters for hire. Dormitory noise varies on the guests. Bond is Php500 for the swipe card.

This hostel gets very busy and needs a proper cleaner. The floors get swept but not mopped.
