Casa Sipione Papa è un vero gioiello nel cuore di Modica Alta. Emanuele è un host cordiale e gentile super disponibile. Camera comoda, accogliente e pulita. Avevamo anche un piccolo terrazzino con un albero di limone che si affacciava sul centro. (Davvero autentico)

The location is great, stone through away from restaurants, bars and coffeeshops. The room was beautiful with very beautiful view over the city.

Needs a little lighting when entering.

Buenas vistas

Booked this place in upper Modica based on other reviews. Don't hesitate. Parking simple, location and view outstanding, breakfast fresh varied and excellent quality for additional fee to the adjacent Duomo coffee shop. Rooms are work of art embedded in the mountain side, with original stone with all modern features and superb comfy beds, and a beautiful balcony with view over Modica. Paintings are originals by the owners grandmother. In the evening we walked down to the main street for pizza and chocolate! Easy walk back up afterwards. We walked up from the apartment to a sunset viewing point and into the adjacent Duomo. Could use this place as a wonderful base to explore the area more. The owner is rightly proud of his buildings, and he was super kind and attentive re our comfort.

Everything was fabulous. As we drove in from Scicli I was a little worried what we had booked as I had simply gone along with the reviews of others without double checking re location and facilities but I needn't have worried.

Fabulous house with good common use space. Rooms good sized and clean. Comfortable bed and nice linens. Adequate towels for our needs. Extremely pleasant and accommadating staff.

House located at the end of a narrow road with poor lighting.

Lovely big room with very well renovated shower. Coffee machine, kettle and small fridge were appreciated. Amazing views from the balcony - however this is shared with the room next door. Breakfast for 5 Euro at the little bar only a few metres away. Free parking on the street (but very narrow street). The host seems to offer his garage to some guests (perhaps those staying longer than one night) and apparently there was parking in a garage nearby for 6 Euro. Great being on the ground floor.

The layout of the house meant our bedroom door was off the shared lounge which was noisy with people speaking in there or on their phones. Also the shared balcony means you can look directly into the other persons bedroom. This was a little awkward until they shut their curtains. It is extremely close to the beautiful duomo which means you are up high (therefore need to walk down a significant number of stairs and back up again for restaurants in main street).
