Glenmoriston Arms Hotel

Location, staff, room (we had room 3), en suite, cleanliness, food all absolutely fantastic. The bed was comfortable, the en suite walk in shower was the best I’ve had at any hotel; staff were all friendly, welcoming & helpful. We had our evening meal there (pre booked table) & the food was very tasty especially the sticky toffee pudding. Would definitely recommend & stay there again.

One of our favorite hotels as we toured Scotland. Glen Moriston is easy to find, although not in the touristy area of Loch Ness, it’s located in a small, leafy village close by. This is a hidden gem! We were warmly greeted at check-in by the owner, Ailsa. Our room was perfect - nicely decorated plus light and airy - and nicely stocked with water, teas and snacks. The bedroom was a good size with comfy pillows and the bathroom was exquisite! We rated this our favorite bathroom during our entire two week tour. With yummy Arran toiletries, big fluffy robes and fresh white towels, the bathroom was spacious and serene. The bathtub for two was a relaxing way to end a long day walking around Loch Ness and such a nice surprise. There is a little table with a mirror to get ready in the morning and ample room for a couple to navigate around each other. The restaurant is exquisite and again, one of our top choices for dining. Salads were fresh and perfectly seasoned. The porridge was unique and delicious, and the fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. We both enjoyed our desserts (no sharing allowed … we wanted desserts all to ourselves!) We also ordered bag lunches for our day trip. Ailsa shared directions for lovely walks to the Loch and waterfalls which we found easily. The walk to the Loch took about 10 minutes and we had it all to ourselves on a cool August morning. She knows the area well and gave sage advice on what to do and what to avoid. The entire staff is warm and knowledgeable. The hotel has been tastefully appointed and cared for. The amount of love Ailsa has poured into making this charming hotel a special retreat is evident in each tasteful touch. She has thought through every potential need of her guests, and we truly felt like welcomed guests. It is a charming escape for couples who want to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company. We loved it and were sad to hear the decision to sell at the end of the season.

There was nothing that could be improved by Ailsa. She was always present and helpful. Her staff was well trained and the hotel was clean and cozy.

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis könnte besser sein, wobei es das beste Hotel war, in dem wir in Schottland übernachtet haben und bei weitem nicht das teuerste….das liegt wohl am allgemeinen Value for Money Verständnis bei schottischen Hotels…
