The location was very convenient — close to restaurants, cafés, souvenir shops, and the nightlife area, making it easy to explore and enjoy General Luna

The location is very convenient in General Luna, right on the main road. At the same time, it’s surprisingly quiet and you don’t hear the street noise.

The property is priced more like a luxury hotel, which does not match the actual standard of a hostel. The bathrooms and showers are in poor condition and appear to have been neglected for a long time. Cleanliness overall is an issue, with many insects and cockroaches present, and the place clearly needs urgent pest control. There is no housekeeping service. During our entire stay, our sheets and towels were not changed at all. The room itself is also not well designed for comfort, as the curtains do not block light, making it very bright early in the morning. The biggest issue was the conduct around payments. After initially booking through Booking, we extended our stay directly at the reception. While we were first given a lower price, we were later repeatedly asked to pay additional charges for different reasons. The receptionist claimed these demands came from the owner, but she was effectively managing everything herself. This created an uncomfortable and untrustworthy experience and eventually led us to leave. We were even asked to pay extra for using the air conditioner, which is unreasonable given the climate in Siargao, especially in April.

Good location

The family room is tiny. 4sqm max. Right next to the family home so everyone is walking around. The staff tries to “scam” you most times. For example in the deposit they don’t remind you you need money back. Same as the early check in they try to get a fee.

The location was very close to restaurants and stores and the beach.

I hope breakfast will be included in the accommodation
