The Dark Horse Pub

Nice pub. Room was clean and comfortable. No hot water in the hand basin, ok in shower.

There was no breakfast, but the location was what we needed.

The way that we went to get to our rooms involved going up what was a very rickity staircase. It was very poorly put together and looked as if it would collapse at any moment. On the first morning, an alarm went off very early distrupting our sleep, so we went to the park. When we came back, at around 8am, it was still going. We were offered no apology or money off for our inconvenience.

The room was clean and comfortable and good value for money, being inexpensive for Bristol. The pub is very popular.

The room was overlooking the A420 and because there is no double glazing was very noisy

The staff at the pub were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. The room was as advertised, spacious with a comfy bed, Freeview TV, and ensuite which was a little snug but perfectly usable. The room got a little cold and I couldn't find a way to fully close the bathroom window but that didn't matter too much once I was under the duvet. I was warned that I was staying above a pub on a weekend even so, the noise never got too loud or disruptive, if anything it made my solo stay feel a little less solo. My only gripe was finding parking was a little challenging, I ended up parking behind the pub after getting a little lost down some one-way roads.

Looked ok on the surface but all very run down. Access to rooms were poor with outdoor stairs very unstable

Although the room was over the pub we obviously expected a certain amount of noise but not like it was & until 3am. Also the access to the rooms were up some steep wooden stairs that were slippery & very worn & for older people like my husband & I who are in our 70's they could be very dangerous. For that reason I think that prospective customers should be made aware that it may not be a suitable venue for people of senior years who may have a few mobility issues like myself.

The room was clean but the bed was very high & difficult to get into. There wasn't any mat for the bottom of the shower & it wasn't anti-slip to stand on which made it very slippery especially when you were using the soap.

Fantastic value rooms for staying when going out in Bristol. Lovely pub, great service.
